Second paragraph of "Help" combat action, PHB192:

"Alternatively, you can aid a friendly creature in attacking a creature within 5 feet of you. You feint, distract the target, or in some other way team up to make your ally’s attack more effective. If your ally attacks the target before your next turn, the first attack roll is made with advantage."

Within 5 feet of you when? Do you have to be within 5 feet of the target at the time your ally attack's it, or only when you use the Help action? Can you move to the target, use the Help action, move away, and have your ally still receive advantage on it's first attack next turn vs that target?

At the moment you use the action.
