Skyripper Mountain [Plot: Puzzle Peices]

[Lykan]

This mountain reaches high up past the clouds, made entirely of grey stone, lacking vegetation larger then small bushes. The top of this mountain is a crator of collossal magnitude, so large in fact that the other side is invisible to average eyes, being covered up by a dense bluish fog.

[AmberVael]

Aesa looks around and tries to concentrate on the piece's location.

[Lykan]

The peice seems to be 50 ft. downward, under the caldera

[AmberVael]

Its under the caldera. You'll probably need to defend yourself from heat somehow.

[Lykan]

He feels the ground

How do we know if it's even active? I might not need protection at all.

The mountain rumbles

... Oh.

[AmberVael]

Aesa chuckles at him and slips a ring off of her finger.
Here. I don't need it now.
She holds the five gemmed ring out to him.

[Lykan]

Hiko smiles, bowing

Thank you again.

He puts on the ring

I was sure you'd turn me into something... What's this do, anyway?

*rumble*

[AmberVael]

Ring of Universal Elemental Immunity.
Aesa starts towards the caldera.

[Lykan]

He grins, following her. The caldera is nigh 50 ft. deep, with the crater cooled over, leaving just rock. Several... What appears to be burrows... Are everywhere on the caldera.

Something's here already, you reckon?

[AmberVael]

Yeah, probably. How long do you think it will take to kill it?

[Lykan]

Hiko grins

As much time as it takes to find it.

A series of roars emit from the burrows

Or them.

[AmberVael]

We could do this the hard way... just for fun.
Aesa grins back at him.

[Lykan]

He draws his swords, grinning

Taking them out one by one?

[AmberVael]

Nah... getting it without fighting them. Though I do like fighting a lot.
Aesa weighs the options in her mind.

[Lykan]

Hiko grins, flipping his blades over in his hands

Your mission, your choice, m'lady.

[AmberVael]

Aesa snaps her whip into her hands.
Lets get them.

[Lykan]

He grins, leaping into the caldera while activating several spells

From the center of the caldera burst several large, red worms.

Not wyrms, worms. Like red "purple worms." but glowing red, and are much, much larger. And they head toward Hiko.

Hiko leaps up and lands up on the head of one of them, slicing the greater part of its head off in a flurry of slashes...

[AmberVael]

Aesa launches down after him, using her wings to propel her faster towards them.
She snaps her whip in a way calculated to wrap out the neck of one.

[Lykan]

She is successful, the worm wriggles about and tries to dive again

Hiko takes a step inside the worms gullet and stabs upward, all the way through the creatures head. The worm collapses

[AmberVael]

Aesa yanks the whip tight, letting the barbs catching and the magic hold it tight. She then pulls on the whip until it either worm is pulled out of the lava, strangled, or its head snaps off from the weight.
She guesses the last will happen first.

[Lykan]

The worm is pulled high out of the magma, flailing violently as the pressure around it's neck increases

The last worm leaps at Aesa while Hiko crawls out from under the bulk of the worm. He hits it with an orb of cold as it leaps

[AmberVael]

Aesa idly summons up no less than six blades of force as she dangles the other worm.
The blades aim themselves at the last worm, targeting to let it skewer itself on them.

[Lykan]

The blow to the second worm is head on: It impales itself on the blades and roars, struggling to right itself and fall back into the magma

The last worms head snaps off.

Hiko laughs

Wooh!

[AmberVael]

The blades tilt to hold the worm in the air.
Aesa hums and flies down to where the piece will be.

[Lykan]

The peice is under the magma, about 10 ft. under.

Hiko shrugs kicking the worm

You think these things have stuff in their guts?

[AmberVael]

Maybe. Care to find out?
Aesa dives into the magma and continues speaking telepathically.
Might need to do it carefully though.

[Lykan]

A worried look comes over Hiko's face as he turns to the worms

Stomach acid?

... Stomach magma?

I mean, you did give me the ring.

[AmberVael]

I was refering to not destroying anything inside, while also managing to cut those things open.
Then again, if they have survived the gullets of those things...
Aesa keeps moving.

[Lykan]

She eventually comes upon a shattered bit of green glass, which, though the current surroundings, still retains its shape and color.

Hiko shrugs and cuts the gullet open

[AmberVael]

Aesa takes it and zips back up to the surface, shaking her wings.
Hyy-uggg- blarg.
Aesa coughs up a bit of magma.
Ooo... that felt bad.

[Lykan]

Hiko comes over, a worried look on his face

Are you okay?

[AmberVael]

Yeah, I'll be good, just give me a second.
Aesa sits down and drops the piece, then lays back and drapes an arm across her chest.
Note to self: swallowing magma is not a good idea.

[Lykan]

Hiko sits down next to her

Glad you're okay...

He grins

Yeah, swallowing molten stone might be a bad idea.

[AmberVael]

Aesa chuckles and gives a small groan. She traces a rune in the air and then relaxes.
Mmm. Much better.

[Lykan]

Hiko smiles

What was that?

[AmberVael]

I got rid of the magma. Left a nice warm feeling though.
Aesa smiles lazily.

[Lykan]

He grins

Good for a dip, huh?

Hiko takes a step, and falls into the magma. He sticks his head out a moment later, and smiles

C'mon in, the lava's fine.

[AmberVael]

Aesa chuckles at him and jumps in after him. She tilts her head.
Hm. Rafael wants me to go and join him. Should I send you on your merry way to the next piece and oblige him?

[Lykan]

Hiko shrugs

Naaaah... Lets have a little fun here.

[AmberVael]

Okay then.
Aesa grins and begins to float on the surface of the magma.
I sure don't do this every day.

[Lykan]

He raises an eyebrow, swimming over

What do you do everyday?

[AmberVael]

Serve drinks at Trog's, do divining for people, have fun with Rafael... do random things like this.

[Lykan]

Hiko grins, swimming over next to her

You're a barmaiden now? I envy those adventurers...

[AmberVael]

Only when I want to be. Just to get on Cosmo's nerves, you know?
Aesa raises a hand, taking a little magma with it. She watches it dribble off.
You do, hm?

[Lykan]

Hiko grins

Well, yeah. Would I have reason to think otherwise?

[AmberVael]

Hm, no, not really.

[Lykan]

Hiko raises an eyebrow

Something up?

[AmberVael]

No.
Aesa's voice is sincere.
So why, Hiko, did you decide to come with me?

[Lykan]

He raises an eyebrow

I wanted to be alone with you for awhile.

[AmberVael]

Mm hm.
Aesa doesn't seem very surprised.
She just looks like she is waiting.

[Lykan]

And to do this.

He kisses Aesa passionetly

[AmberVael]

Aesa blinks.
Well... not exactly how I expected you to do that...

[Lykan]

He raises an eyebrow

Then how exactly did you expect me to do it?

[AmberVael]

Well, Hiko, I always viewed you as a bit more timid.
Aesa sits up, somehow able to sit on top of magma.

[Lykan]

He raises an eyebrow, smiling slightly

It's one of those things I can't hold in.

[AmberVael]

Aesa chuckles at him.
Really now?

[Lykan]

He raises an eyebrow

Why, you don't beleive me?

[AmberVael]

Why should I believe you?
Aesa has a very amused smile on her face.

[Lykan]

Do you have reason not to beleive the truth?

He leans back on the magma, floating on top of it.

[AmberVael]

Aesa sighs and looks away.

[Lykan]

Hiko frowns

What's wrong?

[AmberVael]

You can just be so very annoying, Hiko.
She turns and pulls him closer, kissing him.

[Lykan]

Hiko smiles slightly, not breaking away from the kiss

[AmberVael]

Aesa pulls back after a moment and puts her arms around him.
So, Hiko. What are you going to do now?

[Lykan]

He loooks upwards, in thought

Well, we could always usher in the curtain... Then again, we can also satisfy any unfullfilled bloodlust at out next little dungeon too.

Without vampire boy.

[AmberVael]

I asked what are you going to do, Hiko.
Aesa smiles at him.

[Lykan]

Hiko grins

I'll cue the curtain guy.

[AmberVael]

Aesa smirks and flies out of the caldera, and sits on the edge.
Will you?

[Lykan]

He grins, pulling himself out as well

Then, I'll do some things to you that will make you scream so loud that the mountain will crumble.

[AmberVael]

Sounds promising.
Aesa grins back at him.

[Lykan]

Hiko grins, and kisses her. The curtain guy gets his cue, and lets it drop.

[AmberVael]

Aesa wakes up, tightening her arms around Hiko.

[Lykan]

Hiko wakes up, and kisses Aesa, smiling

What a wonderful thing to wake up to...

[AmberVael]

I'm sure it is.
Aesa beams at him and runs a hand through his hair.

[Lykan]

Hiko smiles and kisses her again

What to do today...

[AmberVael]

Aesa kisses him back.

Aesa gently pushes herself up to a sitting position.

[Lykan]

He bites his lip, sitting up as well and scooting close to Aesa

Supposedly in that tomb that I found the head of the spear in.

[AmberVael]

Oh, thats right. Sounds like an interesting place.
Aesa wraps a wing around him.
Shall we go?

[Lykan]

He kisses her again

With you? Absolutly.

[AmberVael]

Aesa grins.
Maybe we'll go to the beach next...
She kisses him back, then stands and creates a portal to the last piece.

[Lykan]

He smiles

That'd be fun.

He steps through

[AmberVael]

Aesa follows him through and closes the portal behind them.
