Sorcerer animal companion acf?

Would the effective druid level for animal companion on a gestalt druid6//sorcerer6 be 9th, 6 levels druid plus 1/2 of sorcerer levels. This is how I read it, just wanted some other opinions on it.

Druid's Animal Companion progression is better than Sorcerer's, therefore, it's only 6. If you were a Druid 6/Sorcerer 6, then it would be 9.

No, gestalt doesn't work that way. Your effective druid level would be 6.

I just reread the class feature section of gestalt, should have done that first I guess. I'm trying to squeeze out as much potential from the AC as I can. Thanks for the input.
