So I got The Golden Compass game on the Wii for free the other day and this little girl suddenly started using a sloth on her back as a whip to latch onto things. :smalleek:

What would it take besides DM magic to make this happen. If possible I'd like the animal to not resent me for using it as a tool.

If it's possible to do without being a druid or a ranger that'd be great too.

The feat "Fling Ally" from Races of Stone allows you to hurl your companions at enemies provided they're a size category or more smaller than you. Unfortunately it's terribly light on details regarding the exact rules of what happens afterwards. Still, this is about the only example in the rules where you can use a creature as a weapon. Aside from this feat, there's the rules for mounted combat, if you can wrap your head around yourself being the mount and your animal acting as the rider.
