Timeless Fortitude
Transmutation
Level: Sorc/Wiz 8, Cleric 8, Druid 8
Components: V, S, M, XP
Casting Time: 6 hours
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None (harmless)
Spell Resistance: No (harmless)

Performing this ritual extends the caster's life span, doubling the number of years in each remaining age category of the character's life, as well as her maximum age. For example, a human adult who casts this spell would reach middle age at 70, old age at 106, venerable age at 140 and maximum age 2d20*2 years after that. The effects of this spell are retroactive: if casting it would change the character's age category, her stats should be adjusted to reflect the new age category.

Multiple castings of this spell on the same target do not stack.

Material components: a vial of the caster's blood, a phoenix feather, and 1,000 gp in powdered diamonds.
XP cost: 1,000 XP

--------

Design notes: basically, this is Tasmia's Heart (PGtF) in spell form. The in-game mechanical benefits aren't really enough to justify such a high spell level, but for world-building reasons I only want the most major players to be able to extend their life span.

Anyone see a problem with the intent or implementation of the spell?

Well, whenever balance is concerned it actually has to do something with the game in challenges in relation to others. This though doesn't have anything to do with the challenges and is more about a possible goal or plot. If anything you are delaying or subtracting mental benefits in which casters are looking so yes it should be just fine if not under powered.
