Fall of UT party split

As the three of you look onward toward the sounds approaching Ravous and Cyra are well hidden while Corwyn's gleaming armor is a stark contrast to the woodsy backdrop. Only Cyra has laid eyes on the incoming party but you all hear the rustling of leaves with every footstep.

Suddenly, the sound of twigs snapping and leaves crunching is heard only feet behind Ravous.
Just then three arrows fly towards Corwyn, two miss and whiss by as the third plants itself in her her knee (3dmg).
A strange unnerving music accompanies the coming party, high pitched and upbeat.
And then the dust at Corwyn's feet coeleces to form a humanoid figure about 5ft tall. It has the torso of a man but the legs of a goat. Its face is flat like that of a human but bears goat-like features and small curved horns protrude from its forehead. A black Mohawk streams between the horns and becomes a cluster of small braids down its neck. Its eyes are larger than those of a man, but smaller than those of a shook, however they are the color of burnt ash and they show no life. This creature eyes Corwyn for a second before it slams its head into her breastplate. The steel rings out from the impact, but does not give. Corwyn is not harmed by this attack.

Cyra grits her teeth as she nocks an arrow. She takes aim at the skull of the beast attaching Corwyn.

Cyra's arrows tear through the creature and it explodes into a cloud of dust. The others stop walking and look around, trying to figure out what just happened, but they are unable to see the shook archer.

As Ravous hears the combat up front he also remembers footsteps behind him. So he will investigate with as much stealth as possible.

[StormTrooper]

"Ouch" Corwyn shouts, as the arrow jabs through her armor. "You'll pay for that."

Readied action to attack the first one that comes close enough. She's still taking cover behind the tree.

[STDM Grizzly Ad]

The pack of hunters moves 40' closer, still only seeing Corwyn. Another volley of arrows is launched.

A dark presence seems to settle over Corwyn (roll Will save) another arrow pierces her thick armor and embeds itself in her side.

After surveying the enemies below her, Cyra takes a deep breath and looses an arrow at the creature attacking Corwyn (rapid shot) and the beast beside it. She then silently leaps to a nearby branch and remains still behind the foliage (stealth).

In her rush Cyra misfires her bow and frays the string. (The bow now carries the broken condition until such time as it can be restrung.) Both arrows miss their marks but when the alerted foes look up, they fail to see Cyra as she expertly blends into the greenery of the tree.

Ravous pulls out a Heightened Awareness potion and drinks it will watching the area that should have people to see if he can see a change in the area or any sort of motion.

Corwyn tries to shrug off the darkness around her [roll0] (will save)

She then draws a wand out of her gauntlet and casts CLW on her self [roll1]

"Who are you" She shouts. No use trying to be quiet at this point.

Corwyn feels no I'll effects from the darkness and it dissipates.

The hunters now move another 40 feet south and turn to face Corwyn. She no longer has any cover. They begin speaking in a language that seems muddled. (Ravous and Cyra roll linguistics or Int. to discipher.)

One of the archers stops directly in front of Ravous' hiding spot. They are all between 10-15ft south of Cyra. And one is now standing in front of Corwyn. He lifts a dagger to the Oradin's chest and thrusts.

Corwyn's armor sings as metal arrow tips and daggers glint off of it. "Ting, tink a tink, tink, tink ting."

Cyra grits her teeth and carefully aims a throwing dagger at the enemy stabbing corwyn.

Both of Cyra's daggers glide along the trunk of the tree, downward toward her prey. They strike him in either shoulder, between the ridge and collar bone. The daggers sink into his chest cavity and pierce his lungs, killing him instantly. He slowly slumps to the ground. Blood spurts from his mouth and spatters Corwyn's armor as he falls.

I begin to speak in their language as I rise up from the bushes.

We are similar to yall so just clam down and I will tell my friend to not kill anymore but yall did attack first so just settle it down a bit before you make her madder than what yall have done.

Ravous holds up his hand and in common states: "Hold your attack for a few let me see if I can talk to these guys they have a rough and crude language. Also may have mistaken use for common animals."

The one nearest Ravous jumps nearly out of his skin as Ravous startles the group by not only making his presence known but somehow speaking their language. The group turn their attention to him and the nearest one holds a drawn arrow only inches from Ravous' face.

"Whoa! What is they? This one speaks it does.""I don't trusts it. Don't trusts both of them.""That one don't has as hard skins. Bet it would roast up nice and juicy it would.""Do we kills them and see? Or do we takes them to the Old One?""I'm still hungry. I says we eats em."

Ravous successfully improves two of them from hostile to unfriendly. The other three are unchanged. {[roll0] Decision dice}

With their attention off of her for the time being, Corwyn tries to study her foes and gauge their intent.

"Ravous, don't be foolish. These things can't be reasoned with."

Corwyn focuses on the leader and prepares to combat his evil nature. (smite Evil)

She steps forward and attacks the leader with her longsword.

The quick deterioration of negotiations splits the attacker's attention. The now wounded leader answers Corwyn with a headbutt [roll0] [roll1]
Two archers also fire on Corwyn.

The remaining two archers fire at Ravous.

All attacks on Corwyn ricochet off of her armor while Ravous is able to duck and dodge his way to safety.

Cyra is up

Cyra leaps down from her hiding spot with her mace in hand. As she descends, she aims for the skull of the nearest foe.

Cyra's bow falls to the ground, distracting her foes for a split second before one of them is delivered a splitting headache from her mace. (Enemy #3 takes 11dmg.)

Ravous draws his sword from the cane sheath and goes full defense.

If you will not talk then we shall feast upon you.

[StormTrooper]

Corwyn attempts to finish off her foe.

Ravous prepares to defend against the inevitable attack and Corwyn literally cuts her attacker in half (17 DMG) killing him instantly.

Turning to see Cyra the remaining hunters show a look of surprise followed by sheer terror as they see her ebony wings fold behind her.

Two fire on this black harpy, this vision of death that has come to claim them.

Only one hunter gets lucky, his arrow barely catches Ravous as he was swatting the other out of the air. (Ravous takes 4 DMG.)

Cyra let's out a blood-curdling warcry as she swings her mace round again.

The third hunter falls to the ground with a thud.

(Ravous is up)

Ravous will break defensive stance and strike the one 5ft from him.

Ravous slashes the nearest hunter across the chest.

Corwyn steps over the halved body of the leader and takes a swing at the next nearest foe.

Hunter number 2 steps 5ft south east to avoid both Corwyn and Cyra. He fires at Cyra.

The other two still fire at Ravous now that blood has been spilt and they believe they have a chance.

The hunters show a renewed fervor as all three arrows find their mark.

The shook barely flinches at the attack and again swings her mace down upon her foes.

Cyra moves in behind Ravous' second attacker and slams her mace into the base of his skull, his spine splinters as the blow kills him instantly and he falls to the ground.

Ravous stands in full defense facing the one 5ft from him.

Give up, by laying down your weapon or we's gonna kill ya and eat ya!

And Ravous Licks his Lips

Ravous, now looking a bit like Boromir with not 1, not 2, but 3 arrows protruding from his torso; stands toe to toe with hunter #5. He says something that Corwyn can't begin to decipher. With that, the wounded hunter begins to shake nervously and drops his bow to the ground. He raises his trembling hands into the air and cannot force himself to meet Ravous' gaze. He is now shaken (for [roll0] rounds) and disarmed.

Corwyn is up.

[StormTrooper]

The injury of her comrades weighs heavy on Corwyn as energies pull their wounds into her body. Corwyn takes 10 dmg, Cyra and Ravous heal 5pts each.

She then places her glowing hand on her chest to releave the pain. [roll0] (swift action) she step toward the one who stepped away from her and swings her sword. [roll1] [roll2]

(Corwyn is wounded by 8, Ravous by 10, Cyra is back to full.)

Corwyn wounds #2 who then steps 5ft back and fires an arrow at her. [roll0] [roll1]

Then hunter #5 draws his dagger to attack Ravous. (Ravous has possible AoO)

Filled with bloodlust, Cyra rushes hunter #2.

Cyra lands her mace squarely on her target's chest dropping him bleeding to the ground.

Shows teeth with a menacing grin and begins laughing like Alucard

Corwyn is once again injured as she takes on some of Ravous' injuries. (Corwyn takes 5 Ravous heals 5) She attempts to heal herself with a wand and her own abilities loh[roll0] + [roll1]

Hunter 5 is dumbstruck by Ravous and charges Cyra.
"You will not have me angel of death."

He swings wildly, but misses terribly as Cyra stands there looking up at him with blood still dripping from her mace.

Leaping into the air, Cyra hovers menacingly above her attacker. She raises her mace as if to strike, as her powerful wings swirl the leaves around her. In her native tongue she shouts "Surrender now or I will be the end of your kind!"

As Cyra leaps into the air the hunter slashes at her once more. (AoO)

He narrowly misses and is left staring up at the spread jet wings and large red eyes of a much stronger huntress.
