So I'm currently playing a Wilden Ranger in 4e and my GM recently let me tame an animal companion, which turned out to be a stag. Can any GM's here help me stat up a stag that's reasonable but still usable for combat? Ideally something that as an archer ranger can take some of the heat off of me. Also, is awaken still a thing in 4e? Also I'm lv 4 so what level should the deer be?

Looks like no replies so here's a bump. I'm not an experienced DM so I can't help but I am curious and would like to hear from others about this.

Maybe rebuild your character as a beastmaster ranger? Your animal companion can be a horse refluffed as a stag (dragon magazine).

Deer aren't that tall, so perhaps a better analogue would be basing it on a medium creature. I'm AFB at the moment but I think the goat stat block might be a good place to start.

Hmm. I'm not sure what creature to idea it afyer. A horse could work. The deer only has a charge and a regular slam
