Metamagic Rods for Spells Above 9th Level?

Edit: I stumbled into the information I needed and gathered that my question didn't even make sense, epic spells can't receive metamagic and I believe "10th+ level spell slots" only happens for things with divine rank. Apologies

Nah, Epic level spellcasters can indeed pick up 10th+ level spell slots using Improved Spell Capacity, and with Epic Heighten spells can be Heightened to above level 9. So the question does have some meaning, but it's enough of a corner case that it doesn't really come up.

I'm not crazy! When I found the epic spell system and saw how it was not at all what I was looking for I thought I'd just been thinking of the complete wrong thing. It would seem to me that improved spell capacity isn't worth it though, yeah?

Improved Metamagic is often better, but they're best in combination and ISC can be taken at lower levels.
