I'm going to now be playing a fighter in a simple Rise of the Runelords campaign and just tossed something together. There are 6 other players so I don't have to min max so much and haven't actually ever played a fighter or anything else simple (no spells to keep track of, etc). Yes, I know I will not be tier 1.

I am open to Multiclass as long as I stay hitting things with other things.

Name: Nod
Race: Half Ogre
Class: Figther - Two Handed
Favored Class: Fighter (Okay with DM, I couldn't find a favored class for Half Ogre)
Level: 7
HP: 117

Stats:
Str: 25 (18 +4 race +2 belt of strength +1 from leveling)
Dex: 14
Con: 20
Int: 13
Wis: 10
Cha: 10

Race Skills:
Darkvision 60ft
Imposing Figure: +2 to Intimidate

Traits: Anatomist
Reactionary

Class abilities: Two Handed Fighter
Shattering Strike - +2 to Sunder
Overhand Chop: 2x str bonus on Damage Rolls - one attack
Weapon Training 1 - Blades, +1 atk/+1 Dmg rolls
Backswing: 2x Str bonus on all attacks

Feats:
Power Attack
Toughness
Quickdraw
Weapon Focus: Falchion
Weapon Specialization: Falchion
Lunge
Improved Initiative
Furious Focus

I'm going to head down the critical line as I level and get feats.

Items:
Belt of Giant Str +2
Boots of Speed
Folding Plate: +1 Full Plate - Hides in an amulet

Weapon:
Friendmaker: Falchion - Keen/Vicious

Based on the fact that I pretty much just want to hit stuff with a sword how is my guy looking? Any improvements? Talent Choices?

I'd really suggest making a Halfling Fighter for Rise of the Runelords. Risky Striker is nice.

I'm really liking the idea of the Half-Ogre, but what is Risky Striker?

Risky Striker (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/racial-feats/risky-striker-combat-halfling) is the basis for making a giant slaying halfling.

It's also the reason you could be tempted to get permanent reduce person cast on a halfling.

But as to your half-ogre:

Favoured class is no problem. It's no longer precisely a racial thing, there are different favoured class benefits available to different races, but every race gets the option of +1 skill point or +1 hit point for any class they choose as a favoured class, and every character gets at least one favoured class.

I'm curious as to why you took quick draw.

For flavor. The folded armor thing instantly covers you with a command word.

So he travels along, doing his own thing, minding his own business, and he gets jumped. Instant armor/weapon.

Also, I couldn't think of anything else to take since I plan to just power attack.

What about Cleave. I've heard mixed things about it, but I've also seen a feat that requires cleave but allows to to hit anyone in range if you kill your target, and not just the enemy adjacent to your main target.

Cleave is a good feat to take with a fighter bonus feat as its usefulness declines as your level increases. One of the nice things about it is that it's one of the few ways to get a move and multiple attacks into the same round (even if those attacks are against two different targets).

Okay: you can't take both Anatomist and Reactionary, they're both combat traits.

You could consider Weapon Versatility (http://www.archivesofnethys.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Weapon%20Versatility), then you'd have the option of doing Bashing, Slashing, or Piercing with your Falchion.

You might consider getting Cornugon Smash (http://www.archivesofnethys.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Cornugon%20Smash), so you get an intimidate check with every successful Power Attack hit.

Then you could get Hurtful (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/hurtful-combat) which gives you a melee attack as a swift action against any enemy in melee range that you've demoralized.

Oh, wow. That is an awesome combo, and is going in all of my future THF builds than can afford the Intimidate ranks.

You can also add Shatter Defenses to always hit your target flat footed.

Say, would the Cornugon Smash + Hurtful combo allow you to keep attacking until you miss or until you fail to demoralize? When someone's already demoralized, you can still demoralize them again, it just doesn't apply any new penalties. You could activate power attack, attack, demoralize, attack, demoralize... I like.

True, but SD is at the end of a three-feat chain with Weapon Focus and Dazzling Display. I have no idea why Weapon Focus is a prerequisite there. None at all.

You only get one swift action per turn.

Ah, missed the fact that Hurtful is a swift action. Makes the feat a lot less good, but it's still one free attack per turn.

With your strength and charisma, you'll want to pick up intimidating Prowess. I'd drop Weapon Focus, Specialisation and Toughness for Cornugon Smash, Hurtful and Intimidating Prowess.

That sounds good, I'll switch my skill points into intimidation and switch out feats. I think this guy will be fun to play.

Dip thug rogue for one level then take enforcer. Now you will be able to inflict frightened instead of shaken as long as you do nonlethal damage. Blade of mercy trait helps there.

Hurtful is nice, have to remember that one.
