This is a hypothetical question, being as I don't have any characters capable of casting 9th level spells - yet.
Assume you have a shield guardian for which you are in undisputed possession of the control amulet. Unlike most constructs, as I'm sure you are aware, the shield guardian is not controlled by its master so much as it is by its amulet - and thus it is already 'independent' of its creator and the spellcaster.
Would a shield guardian who was the recipient of an awaken construct spell remain under the control of the linked amulet?
