At some point i may be joining a game that is going the be a bit, well, silly. It will be us just being crazy and ridiculous, like armored animated warwagon while someone plays flight of the valkyries silly. Now on top of the non-serious nature of the game we will be DMed by a fairly inexperienced DM (inexperienced to the system not to GMing) so we agreed that we are gonna reign ourselves back and just have fun playing fairly simple characters, as such we placed limitations on the books. The books that can be used are: Core+ Completes (not Psionic though) PHB 2, as well as Heroes of Battle and Heroes of Horror, Miniatures Handbook is a maybe currently.

Now my plan is to be "ULTRA SUPPORT BARD" so to help with this i am going to take Bardic Knack and then snag Jack of All Trades, im currently toying with the idea of taking Healing Hymn as well. My running concept currently is to be a Half Orc Bard that has seen and done pretty much everything and uses a Lute which doubles as a bludgeoning weapon. Spell wise i will probably do some battlefield control with a bit of illusion. On top of this i will be the party face and as such i will be maxing Diplomacy. (we are using a homebrewed version of Diplomacy)

Now as ive never played a bard for more than a dip i need a bit of help. As always thanks for the assist.

While not a bard, one can look towards the "A-Game" Paladin (http://community.wizards.com/content/forum-topic/3407376) for some helpful tips on how to make a support-y one bard (Due to the build's nature of bard emulation).

Also remember, perform can be used in place of diplomacy (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/skills.htm#perform).
