Okay this is going to come off as fairly abstract but I have searched every one of my books and my usually adequate Google-Fu has entirely failed me.

I remember reading through my rule books several weeks ago and I found a list of what I can only describe as 'sacred sites'. Places where great things happened in the past or areas that resonate with especially strong magic, that kind of thing. Also, spending time in these places gave players several temporary bonuses.

One was an underground dungeon where a group of heroic Dwarves fought a last stand, another an area in the jungle where natural energy and druidic magic is especially strong.

I have asked my friends and no-one has any idea what I am talking about.

So please help me fellow play grounders. Do I know what I am talking about, or have I slipped even further into insanity?

I know exactly what your talking about, the Dwarven one is something like "Iron Guards Last Stand" or something like that, and the party gets to activate it and get a bonus to AC IIRC.I think they are called Magical locations but for the life of me i cant find what book they are in, it isnt Dungeonscape or the DMG 2.
Im an idiot, they are called Magical Locations, a bunch are in DMG 2, the Dwarf one is called Last Stand of the Ironsworn and the Druid one is called Garden of Natures Rage. They start on page 235

This is a list (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=6624.msg217187#msg217187) of a number of useful Magical Locations. There were also several in WotC's (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050603a&page=3) online (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20061010a&page=4) articles (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebed/20061023a).

There are also the Planar Touchstones, which can be accessed via the Planar Touchstone feat. Here's a sample from an online article (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20040613a&page=3). And here's a post from this forum (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=9236967&postcount=3) on useful Planar Touchstone abilities.

Of course! The DMG II! I was scanning through a copy in a store and don't actually own it, it's no wonder I couldn't find them again!
Thank you to both of you, I knew I wasn't COMPLETELY delusional :smalltongue:
