Welcome to the voting thread for Base Class Challenge XXV, Dungeon Plunge-In (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?379797-Base-Class-Contest-XXV-Dungeon-Plunge-In)! Voting will consist of each voter giving a first, second, and third place vote for three separate base classes. Anyone can vote, and in fact, entrants must vote for their entry to qualify for victory.

A first place vote is worth three points, a second place vote is worth two points, and a third place vote is worth one point. You may not vote for your own class.

You are encouraged to include reason with your votes, though this is not absolutely required.

The class that ends up with the most points wins the challenge contest. Voting starts now and will continue until 23:59 (Central Standard Time USA/Canada; GMT-6) on December 22nd.

1st - Dungeon Master by Jormengand because of pure awesomeness in both idea and execution.

2nd - Dungeon Engineer by r2d2go due to primarily concept and to a lesser extent, execution.

3rd - Architect by kanachi due to amount of content and picture. :smalltongue:

I'll go for:

1st: Dungeon Engineer by r2d2go. Its the most complete and well fleshed out mechanical class in the contest IMO and is pretty well balanced to boot. There are a few quirks with it that I've stated before and sadly the fluff does not really match up to the crunch, but over all this is a very strong class and one that I would gladly play.

2nd: Ruin Delver by Zaydos. I found it to be a bit of a confusing read at times, but once I got it I really thought this was an excellent entry into the contest. The fluff especially is fantastic. I love me some Indi!

3rd: Dungeon Master by Jormengand. By far the most imaginative entry into the contest and even though its not something I would ever play or allow in my games I have to applaud the idea, effort and execution. Awesome work!

Big thanks to everyone who entered the contest and put so much hard work in. I think everyone can be very happy with the quality of the classes that we have all made! And finally a massive thanks to Temotei for running this whole thing. Top work! :)

1. Dungeon Master. I've always wanted a Dungeon Master joke class that was both well-made and also something I'd allow in a game. It's here.
2. Dungeon Engineer. It's awesome. We all know it is. It's detailed, well-made, and has a great concept and an excellent capstone and mechanics.
3. Trapcaster. Ditto; frankly, I really love the fluff behind it and the Archetypal Dungeon makes me giddy as a schoolgirl. It's tied with the above and beaten only by the aforementioned capstone.

Honorable Mentions: Architect, Ruin Delver. The Ruin Delver is like a better, more team-player Factotum if such a thing is possible, though it's a bit hard to penetrate on a skim-reading. The Architect is basically Minecraft, and that's wonderful.

1st Trapcaster. Similar to the Dungeon Engineer, but I liked the fluff better. I love the archetypical dungeon. It's capstone needs a little work; how many times can you use it? If one creature is trapped that way can you use it again on another?

2nd Architect. I like the idea and concept, but there are some flaws (what's the Reflex DC for if you make a hole beneath someone?) but all in all a really neat concept and with the hardness limit it lets the DM crank up how hard walls are as you level to keep you from disintegrating every wall in a dungeon.

3rd Dungeon Crasher. I like the attempt to turn the substitution levels into a full class and it seems like a reasonably well done attempt. I haven't looked at the math in depth so I can't say whether it's balance but at the minimum it's cool and that counts for a fair bit.

Honorable Mentions: Dungeon Engineer was pretty cool, it was the fluff that made the big difference. Dungeon Master was the best attempt at such I've seen, but they don't do it for me, and the ability to make 9th level spells in traps (CR 10) at 14th worries me instinctively.

1st - Architect. I try not to give too much weight to flavor, but I really like killing things with Minecrafting :smalltongue: and overall it feels like the class I would like to play most.
2nd - Ruin Delver. It's a bit wordy, but after getting through that it is a very solid class.
3rd - Corner Dweller. I really like infinite cantrips, so even though I think there's room for improvement, I would definitely want to try this class.

Honorable Mention: Trapcaster, Dungeon Master. I like the idea of the Trapcaster, but the lack of a comprehensive trap list makes it feel very restricted. Dungeon Master is a very cool idea, and well executed for the idea, but the inherent trouble involved means I'd probably never play it or allow it in a game.

1: DUNGEON CRASHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR! *Smash* *Crash* *Boom*

2: Ravensworn. It's actually fairly flavourful if you bother reading it.

3: Trapcaster. Count me in as soon as the words "Competent trap-user" are uttered.
