Ok, I've got what feels like a very foolish question that I, as a semi-experienced D&D player should know:

How does an enhancement bonus to Constitution affect one's HP? Is it retro-active, and I get the extra HP like I had the new score since the beginning, or does it only affect starting at my current level?

I've gone searching for the answer and I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere. :smallannoyed:

It's retroactive. You also lose the HP if you lose the enhancement bonus.

You gain 1 HP per HD for each 2 points your constitution is raised, even temporarily.

Note, these are NOT temp HP. Remember, you don't lose HP, you take damage. When you lose your bonus con points, your total damage remains the same, and it can kill you.
