Commandant Maximilian Blackstone gave his best years to the Mage Corps, and all he got in return was a bad leg, brass medals and a handful of gold pieces when they kicked him out the day after the Triumvirate surrendered. Raw talent may have saved him from court-martial during the war, but his sharp tongue and independence in the face of tactically unsound orders (“insubordination” they called it, except when the consequences of his actions forced them to give him medals, which means they didn’t get to call it that very often) earned him too many enemies for his career to survive the peace.
Now he roams the roads of Ghair, making a living as a troubleshooter for hire.
Since a Staff of Boom (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?387301-Help-me-create-a-Staff-(-Rod-Wand)-of-Awesome) is out of my price range, what gear can I purchase for my Warmage/Force Missile Mage? He's level 12 and has 30k left to spend.
