Physical Description
A usual male Fuch stands anywhere from 5’0’’ to 6’2’’ while a female stands from 4’8’’ to 5’10’’ with amber eyes and coat coloration varying from deep ruddy reds to pitch black. Males traditionally wear skulls and other ornaments in their fur while females predominantly pierce their large ears with golden hoops and other trinkets. Young Fuch are raised by the females of a pack, training them in weapon’s and in nature lore until they reach the age of 15, when they are taken in by either the male circle or female hunting packs. Male Fuch generally live to be 120 years of age while females slightly shorter lives, ending at about 90 years.

Religion, Culture, And War
The Fuch, while appearing to be a primitive culture are in a fact highly sophisticated, intelligent race. Male Fuch are the central pillar of all religious activity in a pack, leading prayer, attending funerals and consecrating unions between a young male and female. Males are the leading gender in the Fuch pack, using their powerful magic and astrological skills to divine the future and move their society to the greater good. The Fuch religion is more a way of life, and no single god overlooks them as a protector or benefactor. Practitioners of divine magic are banned as anathema in Fuch society, having their tails bobbed off and a single piece from the tip of their ear removed. This is done publicly, which garners a large public turn out, by the leading Circle of male Fuch, to show their power is the true might given to them by the spirits of the world around them that sustain the pack. Female’s with the gift are taken by the Circle of Fire, and trained to be assassins and advanced scouts into non-Fuch societies, gathering intelligence and returning to their home pack, reporting to the leading circle.

Fuch society, called a pack, tend to grow into large towns or duchies around a single large castle that sits at the center of the town. Female Fuch are given the task of protecting the city, hunting food for the local restaurants and gathering materials for the builders and craftsman of the pack. Males that show the power to attune to the elemental spirits are taken in by the leading Circle and trained secretly in the lies and shadows created by the very first circle, and how to harness the arcane magic coursing through their veins. Males that do not show magic potential become the crafters, business owners, and rank and file warriors in the packs defense army. While not warlike in times of plenty, Fuch have been known to raid surrounding towns of humans and elves in times of lean hunting or droughts. Marriage is a loose affair, allowing a single male to have up to five “wives”, and it is more then possible that s single female is married to more then one male. Marriage is strictly for breeding, and both male’s and female’s keep lovers on the side for pleasure and entertainment.

Fuch architecture mimics human buildings, with large stone walls and thatched roofs. Their castles are large gothic affairs with towering spires and several defensive walls surrounding the main building. Several distinct differences is the Fuch’s fascination with moving water and bridges. A typical Fuch city has at least 5 large man made flowing rivers and as many or more wooden covered bridges. Fuch structures never reach higher then three stories, and many homes and inn’s are connected by hanging bridges making Fuch home life more communal then what it first appears.

Fuch government is ruled by several circles, which consist of all the males with arcane schooling. Every pack has the same circles though different circles are dominant depending on the pack in question. It is possible that a single male can be apart of more then one circle, though a leader of any given circle are strictly prohibited to joining other circles for the sake of pack balance. The Circle of the Sun is typically the strongest circle, governing planting and harvesting of crops and they are responsible of keeping track of food stores during the winter months. The Circle of the Crescent Moon is the circle responsible for maintaining law amongst the crafters of a given pack, and in keeping records of the stores of building materials in a single pack. The Circle of the New Moon are the keepers of a packs history and are responsible for the printing of books, and of performing marriages. The Circle of Water are the keepers of religious text and the circle that keeps the truth behind the divine lie given to the common citizens. The Circle of Fire determines when a single pack goes to war, and are responsible for the tactics of a single army. The Circle of Fire also has the job training both males and females in the arcane arts and has the largest library of arcane material in Fuch society. The Circle of Spirits Oblivion is the most secretive circle and is not widely known to the common citizen. On the surface this circle handles all burial’s of a pack’s dead. They are also responsible for the ritual that segregates any Fuch that practices divine magic. Once down said Fuch are taken into the folds of the Circle and trained to use their magic’s to barter with the numerous gods that are worshiped by civilizations that live around the Fuch.

All circle members, including the Circle of Spirits Oblivion, are taught the truth behind the circles power, that most circle members can not connect to the gods or even the world itself, and use a power that comes from themselves to rule the people of a given pack. While it is commonly accepted by the circles that the sorcerous power is granted to them by the elemental powers that surround them, the Circle of Water, through contact with other races, learned that the power comes from more common means.

Relations with Other Races
Fuch rarely come into contact with other races due to their secretive nature. When contact does occur it is mostly with elven and human communities and the nomadic haflings. Humans and Elves are naturally distrustful of the Fuch due to their peoples mythology of the fox. The Fuch have a deep curiosity with the Haflings and Gnomes due to the wandering nature of the haflings and the gnomes natural talent at tinkering. Fuch dislike other canine spices like the gnoll or Jackal Lords, and despise most lycanthropes with an unbridled hatred. Fuch dislike long wars, and will try to peacefully talk their way out of disputes with intelligent races. Fuch have little contact with undead and outsiders, believing devils and demons to be malign elemental spirits that are untamable and thus fit only for destruction. As a race that seeks to tame and control the land and world around them, the Fuch are terrified by Abominations of all kinds and will go to great lengths to hunt them down and destroy them, using their skins as trophies and warnings to those that cross their territory. Elementals fascinate the Fuch, who see them as physical manifestations of the world around them and concrete evidence that the Circles have true power not taken from gods or other powers that would seek to control them. Fuch trade their craft goods with other species for glass, mithril and steel, exotic spices and herbs, and better ways to forge weapons, armor, and metal building goods. The most common craft goods include cotton and wool yearn and cloth, meats and pelts of horse, lamb, and cow, finely crafted bows and furniture, and incense.

Religion, Traditions, and Beliefs
Fuch are wholly non-religious, giving little lip service to gods or other cosmic sources of power. They feel that these beings, while powerful and worthy of respect, seek to dominate those they see as lesser beings. While they offer prayers to the gods of the local people that surround their packs, they see power in the world around them, like a powerful thunderstorm, a swelling river or a raging fire. The circles annually summon powerful elementals as a show of force at the single Fuch holiday known as Pack Meet. This holiday is typically held at the end of winter, when surrounding packs meet at a designated pack hold, chosen at random each year at the end of the holiday. Here the circles meet to discuss the next harvest, trade new spells and rituals, and trade regents for spells. Common folk meet to trade craft goods, unique material’s gotten from other races, and stories from their pack holds. The holiday lasts a week, retaining a light air with revelry until the final day where all Circles meet and join into a single summoning circle and summon a powerful elemental monolith of a chosen element that marks the past year’s history. That year is then referred to by the elemental summoned and the year’s hero who is chosen in a day long gladiatorial style combat held at the start of the Pack Meet. Other species are strictly forbidden to attend the Pack Meet, and those found trying to gain attendance are ritually blinded and placed into the surrounding wilderness to die from dehydration or wild animals. All packs are governed by several universal laws dictated and handed down by the ruling Circle. These laws are generally simple, ranging from forbidding murder to condemning stealing. Honor amongst pack members is dealt on a personal level and never between the separate genders. Honored males are under the circles in control of a given pack, generally controlling the armies of a single pack, while the female with the highest honor is given the designation of Den Mother. These two are the alpha’s of the pack, and move the pack into new directions

What's a Kitsune? I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere else in the post. Is this some sort of social class?

Also, LLV doesn't have range. It just means that they can see twice as far as a human in limited light.

Seems alright. Looks like they make good rangers, furthermore you made it the female's favored class. I like how you gave a detailed explanation on their culture.

I think you need to make it clearer in the fluff that these are Fox People.
