Is there a ruling on the Ioun Stone of Mastery and proficiency bonus scaling? Can a 20th level character bear the stone and get a +7 to all trained checks? Otherwise that stone seems pretty strictly "okay" at best. But I think it's both interesting and intriguing that they'd provide a way to extend proficiency beyond what's normally possible.
