PANDEMONIUM : PAN
http://s15.postimg.org/r04y5ybo7/Icon_1.png"An Age dawns and the prince of lost boys rules over a tiny fiefdom in the far northern reaches of the realm. Is time has been quiet, for an growing nation, but such conditions cannot long last among the Fae. In early Spring rumors came to his ear from the few Lost Boys who roamed past the lands already touched by the boy-eternal's magics. The whispers told of a monster who had taken to the Fallen World in emulation and perversion of the Pan's plan. Some said the creature was twelve foot tall if he was an inch, others that he possessed great horns like a bull but the face of a wolf, and some wild gossipers claimed no weapon forged by Fae or man might slay him. All agreed on one thing though, he was Fae and he had not come to this place through the Neverland Gate of King Pan."

- Excerpt from 'The Rule of The Boy-King-Eternal' by Bayfreal Bonberry

The rumors Pan learns describe a monster of varying description, always large and hairy, gathering creatures exclusively of Fae origin and enslaving humans trying to found a Fae colony much in the way Pan did but including adults and treating humans much more poorly. Pan doesn't know the exact location of the supposed colony but it is somewhere in the province he already occupies.

Peter the Coldbronze, a Lost boy of an apparent fifteen years, believes a hunting party is the best bet and that the colony should be wiped out. Selene the Whitewitch, an near-fae tall and thin girl of a supposed sixteen years, believes a more elegant approach is called for. Zymen the Quiet, shambling near the Wendy House window in a black leather cloak that would be much too hot for the weather if not for the Fae magic instilled in it by Pan, says that the creature should be ignore so long as he remains away.

What Happens?

I am compelling Fiction with the Fae. You can give me a Fate Point and they'll just be rumors, or you can take the Fate Point and the rumors will be somewhat based in fact. Tell me what you want to do in the OoC about the situation.

MELLONTOS : THE LORD LEGATE-REGENT
"They came upon us, my sister, with so fierce an abandon I scarcely can imagine, even now, how they might think us the monsters. Deifon met the true death with a rough hewn spear of yalyawood to the skull, while Marthia tried to outrun them through the forest only for their trained beasts to come upon her. I did not see much after that, I must admit in cowardice. I heard it though, and I should suspect I shall hear it every night . . . every night . . . for all time. One wonders sometimes sister . . . of the loftier prices of our nature . . ."

- Excerpt from a Letter attributed to 'Anonymous Revenant'

While lecturing new students within the school of diplomacy, discussing potential methods of introduction that might allay the fears many of the small folk tended to have in regards the Immortals, a messenger arrived. Unlike in most kingdoms the messenger wasn't young, at least not very young, and while he possessed an athletic build he seemed to have been reborn in the earlier years of his third decade. It was likely due to some wasting diseases the country doctors plying their half-truths in the wilds beyond Mellontos couldn't treat, or at least so the Lord-Regent thought as he broke the wax seal on the letter and began to read;

"Beloved Sovereign,

It is my misfortune to inform you that the two score souls intended for conversion this evening shall need to wait another few nights at the least and so we will not burden you with being the guest of honor at an event that shall not occur. We apologize for the inconvenience to your busy and important schedule but it could not be prevented. The coterie of Necromancers intended for this evenings Conversion were attacked a few leagues outside the settlement. No solid suspects are known but all evidence points towards another bandit attack on the roads. Five of the seven individuals faced the final death and a sixth is not suspected to make it through the night despite our best attempts at rejuvenation.

We have already made arrangements for the ceremony to be performed five days hence and if it is not impertinent my Lord we ask again that you might grace us with your presence. We also hope you will join us in affording our condolences to the family and friends of those lost to us. Thank you for your time.

Your Loyal Servant,

Master Hierem Voite, Necromancer, 2nd Class"

The Lord-Regent resealed the letter as the messenger bowed and departed, at only a small nod from the Lord-Regent, and looked out a window over the small settlement of Thoraka. It was the third such attack in as many months with near twice the casualties of the last. This time it was not average citizens who were lost but what passed for an Aristocracy in Thoraka, Necromancers. Perhaps these were isolated incidents, unlikely to recur, but some element of that rang hollow in the ears of the Lord-Regent. He had not gotten where he was by assuming the best possible scenario based upon limited information.

What Happens?

I am compelling Bandits, And Lords Just As Bad. You can give me a Fate Point and the incidents will just have been usually regular and settle down to a more uncommon occurrence, or you can take the Fate Point and there will be an actual substantial bandit presence somewhere in the Province.http://s15.postimg.org/yc5sxr4if/Icon_2.png

TYR VOLSUNG : SUMMONER OF LEGENDS
http://s15.postimg.org/huwlc389j/Icon_3.png?noCache=1418674210"Reality is a lie only fools believe."

- Pretrivinter Proverb

A figure has arrived in the settlement Dún Völsung and caused quite the uproar. He calls himself Aidama Antignes of the Pretrivinter Inquisition (http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101016141715/finalfantasy/images/8/83/Yaagart.jpg), an order of mage-warriors of an empire he calls the Pretrivinter Imperium to the east. He seems to be requesting to study under the Summoner, apprenticing under her to learn the secrets of the Dimensional Arts and of any other magic he might learn while in the city. He says he will exchange his servitude until such time as he is called back home. It seems his only intent is to learn of the magic of other nations.

What Happens?

I am compelling “Envious Neighbors”. You can give me a Fate Point and the Inquisitor will leave when turned away without issue and will be from a far away land, or you can take the Fate Point and Pretrivinter Imperium will be nearby and you will gain a single Great (+4) Unit, Aidama Antignes, I will stat out who has no upkeep.

GAIA'S STEPDAUGHTERS : THE VERDANT QUEEN
“If a fellow hunter is bitten, kill them.
If your child is bitten, kill them.
If you are bitten, kill yourself.”

- Excerpt from Chapter III of ‘Lycanthropy : A Treatise on Abominations’ by Willet Rethry

The young ranger tells his story to all who will listen. He has met him, or her, or it; the God of Wolves. He has faced him with little more than a Yelyawood spear and come away alive, wounded with an arm that never would have seen use again if not for the treatment of a kindly Druid, but alive. He boasts and sings bawdy songs of a beast a dozen feet tall at the shoulder that could call the wind with a howl and move in silence despite it being twice the bulk of auroch. He claimed its eyes were white pools of shifting smoke and that wherever it stood all shadows angled away from it. The elf said many things deep into his wooden mug.

What Happens?

I am compelling Untameable. You can give me a Fate Point and the incident is merely another drunk tale the Verdant Queen overhears as she moves through the city, or you can take the Fate Point and the creature, whatever it is, will be very real.http://s15.postimg.org/jivqqqm53/Icon_4.png

THE ORDER OF EVERPRESENT LIGHT : FATHER MOUNTAIN
http://s15.postimg.org/d3s4gbq1j/Icon_5.png“Suffer not an enemy of the people to live.”

- The First Father

The settlement of Red River recently received a large group of figures mounted atop bulbous beasts and garbed in rough hewn armor. These men called themselves the Hand of Móg, named for their leader. They had entered the settlement once a month and caused general mayhem before demanding tribute in slaves and wealth. Normally they left before any proper response other than obeisance could be assembled, this time though the authorities have ample warning to prepare for their arrival.

What Happens?

I am compelling ”Barbarians at the gate”. You can give me a Fate Point and run off the small group of bandits without much problem, or you can take the Fate Point and they can be a more notable threat.

VIRSUNESLANTT : THE SAPPHIRE KING
“If you wish to understand an Iron Knight remember they are made of that same mettle by which you forge your weapons.”

- Excerpt from ‘A Treatise on Ironfolk’ by Master Ros Rivers

Land.

One would expect a feudal kingdom with an uneating aristocracy would require little of the stuff. The Sapphire King was learning that that was simply not the case. Peasants needed fields to grow the offal which they consumed and the aurochs needed to produce leather goods needed the same. It also seemed that the Lords of that land were not as mechanically obedient as their appearance might have suggested. An Iron lord called the Bronze-spear had come before the Sapphire King and beseeched him to raise an army and conquer the freefolk and land to the north. The lord spoke of things like martial honor and of bringing civilization to the barbarians but it was clear to the King the origin of it. Too many Lords who were growing ambitious in too small a pen. In emulation of their King they had become to set their sights far higher than to be the masters of a scattering of sheep herders a piece. Denial would surely be taken as a slight but the request for a war of conquest, even a short one, might be taken as an invitation for other nations to react. The Sapphire King also had to consider that mobilizing for war would take time and resources that would amount to a significant investment for the whole nation.

What Happens?

I am compelling “Feudal Land of Iron Lords”. You can give me a Fate Point and send Bronze-spear on his way, or you can take the Fate Point and announce to your court that the request shall be fulfilled.http://s15.postimg.org/ij5fv16zb/Icon_6.png

SARIGALOA : EVIGA ELDEN
http://s15.postimg.org/muu1k1dw7/Icon_7.png“Magic has a price.”

- Anonymous, written in Old Sarigaloan over the gateway of the University of the Capital

Approaches in a group of a half dozen students and teachers a group has recently petitioned the Phoenix of Sarigaloa to support the assembly of a platoon of Wizards along with the construction of a vessel expressly for their transport. Their mission would be to travel to foreign lands and research other forms of magic that could be learned and returned to the University. The petitioner group is supported by a substantial number of students, teachers, and private citizens.

What Happens?

I am compelling ”Discovery Thrives in the City of Research”. You can give me a Fate Point and you can wave away the petitioners with little issue, or you can take the Fate Point and agree to support their plan.

THE REPUBLIC OF TARTESSOS : THE SILVER PRINCE
“No man owns sharper knives than a polite Tartessian.”

- Tartessian Proverb

Ae shotu. That was the name the figure sitting in the satin lined chair had given to one of the Silver Prince’s attendants. His features were sun blemished and nicked with scars in places but still he had all the handsome features of a well bred Aetherian. His clothing was worn, whites faded grey beneath armored plates of maroon that had once been scarlet or crimson, but once all that had seemed to all as finery. In one corner a quiet attendant clutched the man’s blade, a laughably long single edged and thing sword, still in its scabbard, the curved slightly to one side. The man’s eyes were hidden in the shadow cast by his disheveled bangs but he seemed to scanning his surroundings with much more skill than subtlety. A Aetherian ronin, and one who formerly hailed from a house of some prestige if the Silver Prince’s deductions held out. Not an uncommon sight in Great Tartessos, but it was rare for one to be so presumptive as to plead for an audience with the Doge himself.

What the man was there to discuss though seemed even stranger than his attire. He was an adventurer by trade, which in Tartessian may as well have been the word for violent vagabond, but his request was not to be offered payment to slaughter and stuff some wayward beast but instead for a ship, a whole Tartessian Galley, and a few thousand Tartessian Marks. If not for the featureless mask of the Doge he might have actually betrayed a hint of surprise at so great a request, especially for a service that had not yet been explained. Still he gave the man his ear if only for his brashness alone.

The Ronin had heard of a land to the far east where one could find magics to make one ageless and eternal. He requested a writ of service to investigate these stories and if possible to return to the Tartessian courts with the knowledge to replicate those same feats. It would take him months to get there and return but he claimed at length that the investment would better all of Great Tartessos. When he is finished he informs the Silver Prince that he would be staying in a tavern in the city and that if he was not interested he would bring his proposal to other courts, where he could find them. An arrogant man indeed.

EMPIRE OF ALIBRIS : THE EMPRESS OF THE BLACK WORD
http://s15.postimg.org/ku3hz7hqv/Icon_9.png“If knowledge is power then Ingram had caged a star in paper pages.”

- Excerpt from ‘On Imperial Alibris : Volume I : The Age of Wonder’ by Aetheria Longshadow

The Librarians were a strange group. They had begun just as one might surmise, as simple clerks and functionaries, but how organically grown by chance into much more. They tended the storehouse of knowledge at first, and so large was it that their number grew quickly, but in time other functions were needed. When new knowledge needed to be recorded it was a Librarian who was sent out. When old books and writings needed to be recovered, no matter how far away it might be, it was a Librarian that was sent. In time as many Librarians roamed the roads and ruins of distant lands as marched through the corridors of the library itself.

It was a Librarian that had drawn the Empress from her study that day. She had been recovered in the desert near a cave that she had been sent to investigate. she was young, tall, and olive skinned with her deep black hair tied taught in a ponytail over travelling leathers. She had died from a combination of shock and bodily harm; much of her right hand side seems to have been frozen solid.

She had been found clutching an unusually large tome, nearly two feet high and a foot and a half wide, bound in black leather, gilded with bronze, and emblazoned with a septafoil knot. It’s pages were pristine and black but it seemed otherwise strangely old for the condition of its pages.

The cave had been expected to be empty and the girl had been sent merely to map its expanses. The loss of one so skilled and young was a blow to the library and the Empire as a whole. It also implied a potential threat waiting beneath the sands just outside the Empire’s growing borders.

What Happens?

I am compelling Secrets Man Ought Never Know. You can give me a Fate Point and the cave is safely sealed with boulders, or you can take the Fate Point and say that the cave cannot be so easily sealed and deal with it another way.

THE AETHERIAN SHOGUNATE : RADIANT SKY DRAGON
“No good deed goes unnoticed.”

- Anonymous

The scouts arrived to the castle of the Radiant Sky Dragon with a sadness in their souls for they delivered a message they would have preferred gone unneeded. They had travelled out to the eastern western coast hoping to retrieve new citizens of the Shogunate but had instead been met with soldiers and mistrust. A warlord had taken to styling herself as the Great Grey Lion and had resettled the former port city of the fallen shogunate, Westhaven, claiming all lands and citizens for miles around it as her own. It was another nation birthing itself right next store to the nascent Shogunate and the warlord had dismissed any ideas of fealty to the Radiant Sky Dragon out of hand, claiming that any scouts or other soldiers who entered her territory for now on would be considered as harbingers of an act of war.

The scouts also reported that the port was already recruiting and training soldiers, as well as trying to rebuild its Port.

What Happens?

I am compelling ”Struggling to Reclaim Lost Glory”. You can give me a Fate Point and have the next door kingdom be non-hostile and limited to the city itself, or you can take the Fate Point and have it fill that whole county and be a full NPC nation.http://s30.postimg.org/7hyhun1x9/Icon_10.png?noCache=1418688786
