A Goliath with the "fight taller" racial ability is allowed to wield a weapon as if they were Large instead of Medium. Therefore, a Goliath can wield a Large halberd to get 2d8 damage.
I would assume that he still only gets a 10' reach with this polearm and cannot attack anything that is <= 5 feet away.
Now the funky part.
A Goliath Barbarian with the racial substitution of mountain rage grows one size category when raging. So he increases his size from Medium to Large. This increases his reach from 5 feet to 10 feet. In addition, as he is wielding a Large halberd.
I assume therefore, he should have a 20 foot reach, and be unable to attack anything that is <= 10 feet away while raging.
Is this correct?
If he was wielding a normal size halberd while enraged, I would think his reach would increase from 10 feet to 15 feet, because the weapon does not enlarge with him (and still unable to attack anything <=5 feet away).
