I thought it was only gonna be that once.

You never know when a gag starts running.

When did it appear before? I forget.

Channeling Xykon, eh?

Speaking of the pokeballs, did anyone notice how Windstriker went "pika" whereas Argent went "chu"

It's the little details that makes this comic that much more hillarious.

I did, though only like 5 minutes ago
pokeballs are referring to the concept of paladins summoning their steeds out of nowhere, then putting them back into storage otherwise.

argent is way cooler than windstriker though.

I didn't think the joke was funny the first time, but the second time it was kinda funny because of the reference to the first time.

Now the Riding Dog thing, THAT was funny!

What happens to windstriker now that Miko has fallen?

It's stuck in the pokeball of course.

he is on the planes with horse babes? Miko cant access that ability anymore so anything is possible

I think he gets to munch grass in the Beastlands or Arcadia until some other Paladin summons him.

Goodness, a four-way ninja.

And all different answers at that.

I always thought having mounts be summoned creatures was one of the weirder aspects of 3.5. In my campaign we houserule in the 3.0 mount (it's never dismissed, like a wizard's familiar). I guess they made the 3.5 version to make it easier for paladins to go on dungeon crawls without their mounts.

Same with me, but the other way around.

The pokeball gag is getting old lightning fast, Mr Burlew.

The difference is that the Mount is a blessing (albeit a weird one) that the paladin receives, while the Familiar is created by the wiz/sorc him/herself. So the mount can return to the Celestial realms (where it most likely gets to spend his time playing poker with other mounts), and is taken away by the God(s) if a paladin should fail his duty.

Only the mounts of Halfling paladins do this.

Well, a Dire Wolf is still a canine, I'm pretty sure it has at least a bit of poker capacities...

Not to mention that they must get the horses to play... After all, they'd need someone to rip off.

Mmm who'd love to see a fight between the dire wolf and windstriker~

I beleive she is stuck in celestial realm. Perhaps until another paladin needs him.

It is the logical conclusion to this scenario.

Hinjo should have summoned Argent against Miko in the throne room. A horse might not have helped, but flanking someone with a Dire Wolf would have been a good tactic.

if miko can summon windstalker then she wouldnt have fallen and that makes me very sad, though argent would rip that horse to shreds

One of the nice things about Miko going Blackguard is she would get a Nightmare mount, which could be a corrupted Windstriker, thus making this scenario possible.

But do Blackguards summon their mounts from the Celestial Plane?

I think it'd be funnier for Miko to see another Paladin riding her horse.

:miko: She's nothing but used goods, anyways!

Paladin: Then the day is mine!

I wonder what the next one will say. Probably Raichu but there's a small part of me hoping for "Diglet dig, diglet dig"

Honestly, the Pokeball gag is one of my favorites. The first time I saw it used by Miko, I literally spit out my drink.

Hummm... I liked it the first time but didn't find it funny a second time.
However, I am extremely positive that if Hinjo summoned Argent in any other way there would have been threads wondering why two paladins from the same order used different "rituals".

Then again, after "pika" and "chu" we could have seen the last of the pokeballs

Well, if celestial dogs play poker in the celestial realms, than maybe the horses play football?
