Elros reflects, not for the first time since entering the desert, that it's a good thing his ring takes care of his needs for food and water. He looks at his companions and asks, "Do we have more business here before we set out?"

The small town is surrounded by adobe bricks standing a mere 5 feet tall.

Looking down the path you hear a loud booming noise and a cackle, you notice light smoke appearing from one of the houses.

The psion notices a small building 3 stories tall in the North Eastern portion of the map with arcane material components sticking out of it and metal rods. Perhaps a wizard lives there.
~

The Bard knows the town has guards as is run by a noble family and that powerful lich resides here protecting the town from raiders. Not much more is known other than she is a reclusive hermit, lich, and a crafter.
~

The medical supplies were to be delivered to is a relative of the mayor. No information was given as to where he lives.

~
At the entrance you can see town guards and some villagers gathering around a burning building.

~
A teenage boy approaches you. In commoner's clothing, unarmed. Nervously and quickly speaks very sincerely.

"Are you all visitors? You must be tired. Please stay at my lovely inn. My rates are the cheapest in all of Atlas. I have food and drinks even a stable and feed for horses and camels. The town has not had visitors in months. I would love to hear of your travels."
~
You also take notice of a man in brown coat laying on a rooftop gazing at the burning building and taking notice of you. He lays there.

There may be a wizard's tower north east from this town if you do not want to remain.

Ksingtash studies the scene. He is lucky to prepare for the dryness exuded from the barren wasteland when he ventured off his hometown. He uses his mental link that he set up between his companions.

That man up the roof might be unfriendly. Just be wary if he tries something.

"Do any of you have abilities that might help put a fire out?" Elros asks, striding toward the burning building even as he speaks. He doesn't respond to the boy, figuring that his hurry to get to the building will speak for itself.

"What happened here?" Elros asks one of the guards.

HappyMooCow
2015-01-03, 03:19 PM
The only person in front of you is the inn keeper. He says, "oh that is just evil cultist thing, people sacrifice their babies and all kinds of weird things for religion. You should come to my inn, have a nice meal, sleep, relax your mounts, and make yourselves comfortable in town. Did you by any chance have business here? The man's whose house is burnt he does craft potions and medical supplies. Cultists probably hate him meddling with their witchcraft with his herbalism."

HappyMooCow
2015-01-03, 05:03 PM
~ woopsy. Okay you guys went up to the house. The Innkeeper tells you to please come by anytime.

A broken and battered skeleton lay in front of 3 guards holding mauls. The guards seem a bit shaken.

One guard says, "this is all that tombraider's doing, I am telling you that guy is up to no good."

The second says, "probably Lamashtu, villagers keep sacrificing babies with even the slightest deformity."

The third guard says, "maybe we should go ask that hermit lady in the tower if she knows."

Guard #2, "NO WAY, that lady is crazy, the other day I saw lightning in clear open skies striking her rods and channel into her, I have no idea what she is building up there."

#1, "Our standing orders are to always leave her alone, she is weird, not a murderer as far as we know, we should probably look around and make sure we know who is dead."

#3, "yeah yeah, pretty sure it is Cyanti Sha, he was supposed to get some medical supplies to cure this wart I got, guess I got to live with it now."

The guards go inside the house, they take a glance at you as they knock down the door. Some villagers (14) stand around at a distance 120 feet, give or take down the road and gaze towards the guards.
~
You could hear them at about 60 feet.

If you interrupt them, they continue their conversation, and pretty much give the cold shoulder... and say, "look around for yourself if you want, your guess is as good as ours, all property belongs to Amik Sha."

~ Reason for edit:
Got some names mixed up.

Yimne had been quiet and watching from a few feet away, as he was still unsure about his fellow adventures. He did not have any power to take out fire nor did he want get involved at the moment as it would be bad if he blew his cover. he would walk up and look around and glance at the skeleton before looking to his fellow adventures then the stuff.

HappyMooCow
2015-01-05, 03:20 PM
If no one does anything the guards will proceed to inspect the house.
~
The guards attempt to open the door, it is locked. The smash the knob off with a maul.

Any actions?

Kish
2015-01-06, 08:35 AM
Elros steps back and looks around at the villagers. He picks one who he thinks, from body language, looks likely to know this town and be willing to talk (if he can't see any hints to that, he'll pick the nearest one), walks up to that person, and asks, "Do you know anything about what happened here? Who are these people: Cyanti Sha, a female hermit, a tomb raider, worshipers of Lamashtu?"

HappyMooCow
2015-01-06, 10:35 AM
So you approach one of the villages.

You ask a healthy middle aged woman, 36 year old,.
what, what, what?!?! HELLLOOOOO! Cyanti Sha is the Mayor's brother, a herbalist, his house just started smoldering with smoke and a skeleton appeared in his lawn. Hermit!? You mean the sweet lich lady who fills our wells and waters the entire town? Tomb Raider?!?! what is that? Are you talking about Adun? Lamashtu is angry and is cursing our children we must sacrifice our babies to her so our next ones will be healthy. Someone has been making Lamashtu angrier lately, please do anything to make Lamashtu happy, I have a grand child on the way and it is dangerous to go out in the desert, I am so worried raiders might attack my children. Please just do anything to save our babies!

~Edit:
Now that you think about it (since no one has survival or knowledge nature on their sheets).

You pretty much seen desert since you got here. The town has dirt and sand mixed in. Ferns and small fruit shrubs litter the town. You seen a few wells around here, one at the stables by the inn. This small town is like an oasis in the middle of a desert. Even the small wall surrounding this place had small plants growing off of it. You see vegetables upon closer inspection growing in front of people's houses. This is a pretty good place to live it seems. Also the town is warm, but not butt sweat hot like outside of town.

BWARHWARH WAOR AWOR AOW AHAHAH

You can decide where you are, when you roll initiative. If you are in front of the house you are now 20 ft away from the jackle headed zombie. You all had a few rounds to do things, look around, etc. You can be further away, up to 120 ft.

Some of this game will be like 2nd E style no map placement. Majority will have map placement / marching order. If you demand a map, I will draw it.

Ksingtash sweats as if he had been wandering on the desert for a long period.

This mindless zombie is troublesome. Most of my mind powers do not work against this subtype.

His hand glows with energy, shooting a multicolour goo that heads towards the jackal.

But I learned a few tricks to compensate for my weakness.

Expend Psionic Focus to use metapsionic Linked Power.
Move in range to use Entangling Ectoplasm which cost him 3 pp because of the large size.
As Linked Power is in effect, the power that I linked with my primary power will be Grease, Psionic on a 10 ft radius on the creature's square and squares that do not affect either Elros or the guards which will come into effect on the next round.
Ranged Touched Attack: [roll0]
If hit, it is entangled for 5 rounds. Next round if it does not leave the area, it is flat-footed and need to make a balance check (DC 15) to not fall prone.

HappyMooCow
2015-01-08, 01:17 AM
Eat, sleep, grease, repeat. The spell requires a save now and again every round he stays there.

Zombie falls down.
~
Zombie cannot stand twice and ends his turn. (same thing next zombie turn). I also realized entangled does -4dex penalty.

Going to fast forward this combat a bit. The guards drop their mauls pull out greatswords and hack away at the large zombie. You guys pitch in with your attacks as well.

On round 3 the zombie is going to crawl giving AoO to all and then slam. Going to assume you guys can do the damage even if you cannot I will just roll one die in the dice thread if it is not a crit then I will not worry about it.

300xp to all.

Just tell me how you helped out and what you do now.
~

The captain grunts I assume you had some business with the deceased, here is a note so you can talk to the mayor, I am sure he has heard the bad news about his brother by now.

The guards thank you and the captain escorts a soldier to the hospice (historically it means the same as a hospital) for healing.
~

Elros noticed the cloaked figure on top of the roof got up and snuck off during the encounter. The other villagers start to go about their own business once they see that the smoke has settled.

Yas392
2015-01-08, 02:27 AM
Ksingtash darts forth as the party and the guards join in to cut the bound zombie into pieces. He pays homage to the undead by getting some thrusts in with his dagger whenever the zombie is redundant and helpless, retreating when he know when it tries to attack. He nods to the Captain when he accepts the note.

Thank you.

So you guys stop to take a look around. You find various herbs growing around his house, sage, witch hazel, aloe vera, etc. A small clay bowl with a clay crusher laying around. Inside the living room you find an area charred, it seems only the living room caught on fire. You find the spot where his corpse was transformed into a zombie, small chunks of burnt flesh mixed into the burn carpet give off a nasty odor.

According to the Kalashar's knowledge religion Lamashtu is an evil lesser deity of serpents that is either imprisoned or deceased. It is puzzling to hear of people making sacrifices to please Lamashtu.

Your party finds an accounting book. He collects raw materials and crafts healing kits and potions for the hospice. He exchanges odd things with a Ms. Sweets.

You also find a small dairy.

Last page
I have sacrificed my first born to please Lamashtu and my wife perishes along with our second child. Maybe we are all cursed and our practices are just silly superstitions. Our town is the weakest it has ever been. We have 8 guards left and a town size of maybe 100. To believe this place once held a thousand would be blasphemy if someone gazed upon it today, the long abandoned homes now covered in sand. My only choice is to put my trust in Ms. Sweets and the hospice priest, for they provide the town with water, water is life, life must be preserved, yesterday preserving life meant keeping the source of our water locked away, today preserving life means to let it flow with might. I have put in an order of supplies that will allow her to cast spells again after several months of treatments. I have dispelled the enchantment binding her to her tower.

The rest of it is his life story and major historic town events. What you gather: the hospice cleric worships Pelor. Ms. Sweets created, 'ever lasting water' and is called Ms. Sweets because if you toss her a bag of sugar she will toss you a bag of candy. Ms. Sweets wizard experiments turned her into a lich, a group of paladins came and she surrendered (this happened more than a hundred years ago). Townsfolk believe she needs to stay alive to provide the town with water and by law she has to stay there with only her items. The 'paladins' magic made it so no one can enter or leave her tower and forced Ms. Sweets to drink an elixer that prevents her from ever using magic. When babies are born with deformities townsfolk bring them to cultists who take the babies to an alter in Scorpion Rock. The townsfolk also sacrifice their first born and the elderly. There is an alter of Lamashtu nearby and an alter of Hodin. Raiders often murder and loot townsfolk who leave to make sacrifices to Lamashtu.

You do not really know anything about Hodin. The only directions to these places is to walk out strait from the back of town and avoid the oasis.

Kish

Elros uses his Leading the Attack maneuver to buff everyone fighting the zombie, guards as well as his companions; if the zombie takes a swing at him he blocks it with Wall of Blades. When the zombie ceases functioning, he recovers maneuvers, letting Ksingtash do the talking.

...

Looking at the book, he comments, "I see several possible reasons for the murder here. I'd say we should talk to the hospice cleric first, if we're investigating."

niw18

Ksingtash twitches by the act of infanticide.

What people! This town have more darker purposes other than just murders. The witch seems to be more of a hostage. She lacks traits of villainy until she show her true colours..

Ksingtash examines the note and crosses his arms, holding a note high up.

The mayor seems to be a person who is a source of reliable information along with the hospice cleric and Mrs Sweets, that is. The hospice offers intensive specialized information while the mayor is an all rounded informer. We need to decide in a vote of our next destination.

Kish
2015-01-10, 02:22 PM
"I'm inclined to think the hospice cleric sounds the most trustworthy and so is the one we should talk to first, not that it likely matters much as long as we talk to all of them. Yime? You have an opinion here?"

niw18

Off the party goes to find the hospice!

So you went outside asked a few townfolk for directions and wam bam you got there.

The hospice building has a guard on opposite corners. The surroundings of the hospice building is a complete open area, with small cut grass less than an inch tall.

A guard tells you as you pass him by, "If you see Aedan let us know. That tombraider is wanted for questioning, we know he is still inside and those damn nuns are sheltering him."

Kish

~
A sign on the door reads, "Gorhan Hospice, all is welcome."

Upon entering a nun greets you, "hello there what is your ailment." As she looks up from her desk 10 ft in front of you.

The hospice is an open bay area. You notice towards the back a small stairway leading down.

There are eight beds of which 4 are occupied. The hospice is 100 ft by 100 ft.

What you see in front of you is a messy desk full of papers, ink, and pen. She is wearing a gold ring, a holy symbol neckless made of wood, and white robes. Behind her is a closed and locked cabinent. To her left (your right) she has a small drawer.

You guys see nothing out of the ordinary. Just an open bay with sick people in it, what seems to be a basement, and 3 priests (2 of which are tending to others).

The nun goes on to say, "If it is Aeden you have business with, we have no idea where he went, he just disappeared after the nuns went home. My hospice is a safe haven for all who need healing and I do not permit violence in any form here. You can have a look around, receive medical attention, or make a donation to my cause. I must get back to crafting my scrolls so that I may treat the next person afflicted by poison."

Yas392

Has anyone kept tab on our roof sitter before the zombie attack? He is very suspicious.

Ksingtash does not know whether the figure who watched the burning and glance at them for a short while is involved with the sacrificial sprees. He had been concentrating on the battle and had his full attention on the guards in the aftermath. A little reminder is always tact to keep track of everything if one has companions that may catch what he missed.

We would like to know if there are any recent disappearances from the town that are connected to a deity called Lamashtu.

HappyMooCow
2015-01-13, 01:56 PM
Disappearances?, oh my. Lamashtu is an evil deity long slain. Aeden was severely burned and wounded when he came in, he mentioned cultists at Scorpion Rock and the Twin Tombs. I am no crusader and the town does not have the resources to investigate, let alone trek the desert.

He refocuses his focus and readies his dorje. Then, he glows a psychic magenta. The glow expand into a transparent shell of the same colour that wears itself over his body before subsiding into consistent brightness.

You are up, Galan.

A weird, moving hand shaped crystal peeps out of one of his pocket with the same glow.

Fear not, fair maidens. Whenever you are, Sir Galan, the extraordinaire mounted hand of justice will rescue you from the clutches of evil!!!

The crystal "stretches" before blinking rapidly.

Wait, wait, wait. I thought we agreed that you would only awaken me when there is evil brewing. Don't tell me that you fought something without me? Why didn't you wake me??!

You were sleeping soundly.

Great! Just great! Anyway, what do you want?! If you are just playing with me, I am going to sleep.

There is evil down that hole.

In an instant, the crystal sprout legs and shoot into the hole.

Watch out, fiends! For you will be smote by the glorious blade of Sir Galan.

He does not have a blade...

Do withdraw if you are bravely running away.

The Passages are hand-carved, but only crudely so, and average only 7 feet in height. The doors you cross in the catacomb are of simple wood construction. The air damp. The doors tend to swell when closed.

OOC: My entangling ectoplasm action is still stands since I saw the map. I hope that you are not ignoring it. If we are in 1.4 on the map and the human (not Aeden) is retreating outside the door, he is not using it through the door but using it on the human who is escaping and stepping back which means he is in ranged by the time my character and psicrystal rushes at him with their readied actions which is to move to intercept the nearest enemy. And my psicrystal is using his senses not on Aeden's room but on the person on that is trying to slip away on 1.4.

Cannot ready actions out of combat by raw. You were standing in the square below the warforged. There is stone between you and the rogue, you could sense him through the door, but line of sight right now you cannot sense him.

If I recall walls limit vision through it usually based on thickness and I do not really know where to look in the dms for it.

Telepathy just allows you to communicate with other creatures... idk about seeing them. I played a psion before with a psi crystal... I just do not recall the psicrystal seeing through walls or how that works out.

HappyMooCow
2015-01-19, 04:01 PM
Ah found it. It is under psicrystal

Sighted (ex): Although it has no physical sensory organs, a psicrystal can telepathically sense its environment as well as a creature with normal vision and hearing. Darkness (even supernatural darkness) is irrelevant, as are areas of supernatural silence, though a psicrystal still can’t discern invisible or ethereal beings. A psicrystal’s sighted range is 40 feet

~

Going to rule as well as a creature with normal vision and hearing means not seeing through walls. We will do this, each inch of thickness reduces xray vision by 5 feet.

Yas392
2015-01-19, 04:14 PM
OOC: If you have been clearer, this would have been avoided. Is the rouge in the same room as Aeden but is slipping away? That is the question you need to answer. Right now, you are telling us that the rouge is near the door which is outside the room and therefore we can see him thus starting an encounter. And Elros is a dwarf, not a warforged. By RAW, you can move through ally's square.

niw18
2015-01-19, 04:36 PM
Yime felt unease but would just go on defensive before following his adventuring teammates but something differently was not right with this place. he would follow behind the other two still a little bit at unease and keeps his morning star out in case he is in need of it.

HappyMooCow

Aeden is the rogue / tombraider.

Yes you can move through squares. Is your psicrystal ahead or with you? The door just blew up so it would be in your pocket or with the dwarf. There is no readying out of combat

If Elros is a dwarf make a fortitude save. Poison needles flew at you from above, one pricked an ear for 1 damage.
~

You act before the guy so you can totally goo him now. I am just confused what you are trying to do with the psicrystal, because there was a tunnel, a door, and a room... You would also have to throw the goo through the door, because the ectoplasm is a ranged touch.

OOC: I am not sure if you notice but Kish has DR 1/- and fire resistance 5. Shouldn't the needles do nil to him because it is a piercing attack and the fire damage from the explosion is reduced by 5? So far, I have calculate that the damage he received accumulates to 18 damage:

Explosion: 17 - 5 = 12
Needles: 1 - 1 = 0
Aeden first attack = 6 - 1 = 5
Wolverine attack = 2 - 1 = 1

Total: 12 + 5 + 1 = 18

And since wall of blades can be initiated as an immediate action (not sure if his roll is high enough to negate your hits), he has a chance of avoiding the bulk of the damage with the exception of trap damage.

Flanking and you are not taking into consideration other factors. Like BA and other pluses he may have. I mean I did roll 2d6 of sneak attack, so you know he is at least level 3 and prepared for your party.

Normally I roll in the dice thread for this reason. Also the 17 only hit him because him and two wolverines were sharing basically two 5 ft squares.

If you really want to know. 2 mw daggers, flanking, ba, str, bless from a scroll. -2 for TWF. He hits an 18 with a 13 roll no problem.

The wolverines are raging, according to MM1 that adds +4str +4con for the wolverines. These things are weaker than horses for the same challenge rating. Plus raging means they would come to you and they are super easy to hit.

Elros does have 17 AC. I'm fine with you hiding the rolls, less so with just getting a generalized mass of damage rather than being told how many times I was hit or by what, which is something Elros would know.

Having been waiting patiently with his companions in the passge, Jonro is pleased to see their target finally coming along. He is, however, surprised to see that the target is being followed and when the fight breaks out holds back slightly to as to better understand what is going on. It does appear to take my iron ward diamond into account; the fireball brought me from 38 to 26 (12 damage after my fire resistance) and the 30 damage there brought me to -4. However, that does require the wolverine's attacks (if my understanding of how the mass of damage breaks down is not completely confused) so they shouldn't be running past me and taking more attacks.

To sum the book you find:

These two rulers – twins, in fact – occupy a misty place somewhere between fact and fantasy, mythology and history. How much of the stories told of these legendary figures are accurate remains open to debate. Shishak was said to have led the first settlers into the wastes, fleeing some undefined oppressive evil in their homeland. They were plagued by famine and disease the entire journey, but though their numbers dwindled, they persevered. The River of Venom, an expanse of millions of poisonous snakes, presented one final, seemingly insurmountable obstacle. Shishak would not be deterred. Holding his staff aloft, the king entered the slithering mass and parted it, allowing his people to pass safely. A few short months later, just after the refugees had established their new homes, Shishak mysteriously fell ill and died. Shishak’s twin brother, Hotep assumed the throne. Many whispered that he had murdered his brother, a theory supported by his subsequent ruthless behavior. Hotep ruled with an iron fist, clamping down heavily on his people, imprisoning or killing so-called subversives, and even burning communities that spurned his authority. He was reviled as a tyrant, and few mourned his eventual passing. What history doesn’t record is that Hotep was driven into tyranny by the vile Lamashtu. It was her influence that blighted their former land; it was she who plagued their flight; it was she who poisoned Shisak; and it was her widespread corruption of the populace that led to his oppressive and sometimes extreme governance. Though Hotep has been condemned by history, it was his ruthlessness that freed Khemair of Lamashtu’s vile grasp.

Heeding Yime's words, Jonro checks his step; "Whoa! That's some crazy mojo; you seen this sort of thing before?"

Davin thought for a second that Cinderborn rang a bell.

He thinks it's some sort of salad. Nevermind that, then.

Regardless, he takes a step back andprepares to channel negative energy through his blade at the first sign of trouble from within the sarcophagus

"I'm Elros Dagarkin, and I'm a warrior." He frowns at the sarcophagus when he hears the translation. "I have fire resistance."
In the first two rounds the others are searching and reading, he'll use the other two charges from his belt, one at a time.[roll0]
He also readies an action to use Leading the Attack on anything hostile that emerges from the sarcophagus.

So some time goes by. Nothing happens. Delia tries to open it and fails the first attempt. Nothing happens. Would you like to take a twenty?

Obviously distracted by the potential dangers Jonro fumbles the lock. Takin a deep breath he readies his nerves and tries again.

It opens. Nothing is inside.

Will saves. DC 20. Fail and get cursed.

Those cursed suddenly feel the urge to recover the lost staff of Shisak and to destroy the alter of Lamashtu. When you tell yourself no or that you must take on a different task, you fear burning.

According to your knowledges and spellcraft. You know it is 1d6 fire damage once per hour you refuse to undertake the task (Will save 20) until the curse is removed (remove curse, limited wish, miracle, wish) or the alter is destroyed.

A low chant audible to everyone within 400 feet.

Show no mercy for the vile Lamashtu and her followers. Those curse feel compelled to go towards the Crypt and Scorpion Rock, can also sense the general location of the staff and alter.

...okay, where did the zero go? Apparently I would have made the saving throw (barely) even without using Moment of Perfect Mind though; I'm glad I don't have to protest "wait, that's supposed to be nine points higher!"

Elros frowns at the empty sarcophagus. "Something tried to influence me," he says in a suspicious voice. "Was this all a trap?"

He sweeps his axe through the air.
Regain maneuvers.

For whatever reason, the chant's recommendation sounds like a great plan. Davin nods to himself.

With the lid open, Jonro feels a strong compulsion to dispense violence!

"We have to go, we have to find the altar; we have to avenge him!"

Jonro eyes are wide open; he obviously believes in the need to do this!

"Wait, wait. Who do we want to avenge now? Not him." Elros points at the tattered corpse of our homicidal host.

Davin: What you once read and forgot is now so vividly clear. Scorpion Rock is where Lamashtu was slain. You presume someone is sacrificing babies on the alter and trying to gather enough followers of Lamashtu to resurrect her. You are not too familiar with the process of bringing back a fallen deity because it is all speculation... you are absolutely positive the process has to be done where the deity died, which is why most deities stay on their native plane. Alter + sacrifices + gathering followers to perform rituals seems like a way to bring back a a deity.

After this ponder...

You are positive that this is happening.

Yime felt the invading compulsion and instinctually used some of his psionic energy to help fight it off as he had noticed the effect it had on the others. He would glare at the dead body as he mentally combats the effect with his will and his mind.

using Resistance (Su): Elans can use psionic energy to increase their resistance to various forms of attack. As an immediate action, an elan can spend 1 power point to gain a +4 racial bonus on saving throws until the beginning of her next action.

Jonro methodically begins to pick up the items scattered around and starts to put them in his backpack;

"Anyone else want any of this? I'll just load it up and we can be on our way to destroy this altar and stuff!"

Kish
2015-02-06, 09:21 AM
"Why are we trying to destroy an altar? No, I don't want to use anything here. Tell me what you know," Elros demands.

Delia2531

Jonro gives the potion vial a searching look, but unable to easily identify it he merely puts it in his pack.

"We must recover the lost staff of Shisak and to destroy the alter of Lamashtu; we need to go now, we cannot wait, we will burn if we do not go now!"

Xhosant

"The coffin was apparently cursed. You probably shrugged it off, but it seems we need to focus at least some effort into this task, or otherwise remove the curse from us. We could always try and counteract the curse's effect, too."

Meanwhile, he stuffs assorted things into his Haversack, to capacity.

I'm assuming Davin knows that stuff because you said he has a workaround etc. If I'm wrong, i'll fix it.

Kish
2015-02-06, 10:14 AM
"I...see." Elros frowns, helping gather loot together. "Burning isn't an option, but I hope we can find a way other than doing what this mind control trap wants you to do. We can divide the spoils after we deal with this curse. I don't have a magic bag, but weight doesn't slow me down; is there anything that won't fit in magic bags?"

Delia2531
2015-02-06, 10:52 AM
Seeing Davin start to pack up the gear too, Jonro nods to him; with Elros' comment he replies, "Everything here is pretty small, so it should fit quite nicely, but these might be better carried more easily accessible?" and he jestures to the daggers and attaches one to his belt.

"All I know is that I need to find this staff and the altar and avenge the king; I think I can feel where they are, I have a definite pull inside me and if we don't go I'm pretty sure I'm going to burn!"

Kish
2015-02-06, 05:20 PM
"Wait a minute. Just before he was suddenly behind me, he clicked his heels together. Do any of you have some means of identifying magic items and their effects?" Elros strips off Aeden's boots.

HappyMooCow
2015-02-06, 08:23 PM
Elros takes off the boots and the description of it leads those with spellcraft to believe it allows the user to teleport 10 ft like the level 1 psionic and magic spell (boots of translocation).

Your bags of holding, handy haversacks carry the stuff no problem. You also realize these items can be mended with the brush with enough patience and/or with the right professions.

"Hm. I could use these. Anyone else?" Elros asks.

2015-02-09, 01:24 PM
Yime would look at the loot and think if there anything he might need from the loot. he would not really see anything that interest him that much and would wait and see what's left and take from the left overs just to have something from the loot.

Kish
2015-02-09, 09:59 PM
When no one else speaks up, Elros shrugs and changes his old boots for the enchanted ones. "Think that priest we spoke to might have something useful to suggest, or should we go see if anyone at that tomb place you're being drawn to is interested in talking?" he asks.

So you guys make your way back to the church.

The church is dark now. You see a small candle light extending from the priest's desk. The priest is hog tied to the desk and gagged. As your light illuminates the room you notice all the patients are tied to their beds.

Kish
2015-02-10, 02:54 PM
Elros looks around for any enemies he can see (remember, I have darkvision). If nothing jumps out at him (literally or figuratively), he cuts the ropes binding the priest with his axe, carefully.

Always start with the gag :P

Also, a reminder: We're here to research the staff and altar. Dispelling is a side project. The curse shouldn't complain.

Davin, although lacking in perception, all things considered, keeps his eyes and ears open and his blade drawn.
