Tortured Mind (Ex) A bladerager troll’s mind has been torn
to shreds by the constant pain of its implanted armor.
Anyone who makes direct contact with a bladerager troll’s
tortured mind (such as by using a detect thoughts spell)
takes 1d4 points of Wisdom damage.


I have a player that has been hit with it using Wild Empathy... I can't tell if it is permanent or not. It doesn't say perm damage, but it doesn't say temp either. Can someone clear this up please?

Ability damage is temporary, ability drain is permanent(ish).

Wild Empathy is basically animal (and magical beast) diplomacy. Not only does it not work on monstrous humanoids, it is also in no way direct contact with the targets mind.

That aside, ComaVision is right. Ability damage heals at a rate of 1 points/day. Someone providing long-term care with a DC15 heal check and 8 hours of rest increases that to 2 points. You can also cure it with Lesser Restoration and a whole lot of other items and abilities.
