I'm not familiar with the formatting on this forum, so bear with:

The Divinist
“There is an old saying, one man cannot serve two masters. I say, why not? And who said I would be serving?”
-Zalan, Divinist Heretic
Divinists are powerful masters of divine magic. While some spent their first years studying divine magic, they found themselves more drawn to the art itself than the deity they swore themselves to. The divinist has sworn himself to the study of divine magic, not unlike a mystic theurge, although the divinist’s magic is inherently divine. While they do not write their magics down usually (unless a previous class requires it) they viciously hoard their knowledge, rarely taking upon pupils. Rather, they form colleges of those they deem their equals.

Classes: Divinists were usually either archivists or clerics who later branched out into another form of magic. This class is not entirely recommended for druids, as it does not advance wild shape. Shugenjas lose the least, at least as far as the druid is concerned.

Requirements:

• Ability to cast 2nd-level spells from two separate divine classes.

• 8 Ranks of Knowledge (Religion) and Knowledge (The Planes).

HD: D6

Skills: 2 + Int modifier (Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Knowledge (Arcana), Knowledge (Religion), Knowledge (The Planes), Spellcraft)

Class Features:

• Heretical Magic (Ex): At 1st level, a Divinist gives up their relationship with a cause or deity. They no longer require its approval for its spells, preferring instead to draw power from the latent divine magic of the universe. They can continue to worship it if they so choose, but they do not have to and it is not required to maintain its magical powers. If they had alignment restrictions upon spells they cast, then they still have them(for example, a Cleric of Pelor with the domains Good and Sun who takes levels in this class has the same domains, but is no longer required to worship Pelor, and no longer depends on him for magic). A druid or other class with an alignment restriction is no longer required to maintain that alignment to continue to gain spells or access class abilities.

• Spells / Day and Spells Known: A Divinist at each level can advance up to two divine spellcasting classes to which he already belongs and can cast 2nd level divine spells in as if he gained a level as that class, but gains no other features beyond spells and spells known.

• Domain Universality (Ex): At 3rd level and every three levels thereafter (6th & 9th) a Divinist can select a domain spell from any level of spell he can already cast and add it to the spell list of any other divine casting class with the same number of spell levels. If he does not have a domain to access, he chooses a single domain and uses spells from there as the pool from which universality chooses. He does not gain any domain powers. In addition, a domain with a spell that has been chosen’s power is treated as using the Divinist’s class level in addition to the cleric one.

• Divine Clarity (Ex): At 5th level, a Divinist gains Iron Will as a bonus feat. In addition, once per day, he can use True Seeing as a spell like ability, caster level equal to his highest caster level. At tenth level he can use it twice per day.

• Improved Spontaneous Casting (Su): At 7th level, a Divinist with the ability to spontaneously cast spells (such as a druid’s Summon Nature’s Ally or a cleric’s Cure or Inflict spells) can sacrifice a spell of the same level in either spell list (he could sacrifice a 1st-level druid spell to cast cure light wounds, or a 1st level cleric spell to cast Summon Nature’s Ally, etc.). If they do not cast spells spontaneously, they gain no abilities from this.

• Divinist Channeling (Su): At 8th level, a Divinist gains the ability to turn or rebuke undead as a cleric of the same alignment as himself and the same class level as his divinist class level. If he already can from another source, he gains Extra Turning as a bonus feat and his divinist level stacks with that from the previous source.

• Divinist Apotheosis (Su): At 10th level, a Divinist learns the truth of divinity: That all divine magic flows from the same source and that all is truly the same. He selects two spell lists to which he has access to from classes he has progressed with Divinist levels and can fill spell slots from either class with spells from either spell list. For example, a Divinist who picks cleric and druid spells can draw from either the druid or cleric spell list when preparing spells. If he casts spontaneously from a class, he cannot prepare spells from the other list, but that other list can prepare from the spontaneous classes’ spells.

I'm going for a similar power level as the Arcane Hierophant, so any advice, whether it be nerfing or boosting an ability, would be useful.

God the table formatting is atrocious. But what do people think? Anybody?

Divinist Channeling should go way down.
It's unreasonable that for 7 levels you neglect turn/rebuke undead and all of a sudden that gap is eliminated and you gain a benefit on top of it.

Also, here's what you need regarding tabler formatting (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?341034).

Alternatively, you may use the
tag for text blocks that accept multiple spaces & tabs. That way you could at least present semi-formatted tables with less fuss about it.

Sounds good. Maybe half your divinist level?
