Gilnor and Rhovames Dorongail were wealthy and influential elves within the community of Faervel until the time of your birth. Upon seeing your dark skin, they knew it was only a matter of time before someone made the connection to the "King slayer prophecy" which mentioned a "dark seed" from a "white oak". (Dorongail means white oak.) Fearing for your life, they put their home and entire estate in the care of your father's older brother, Uncle Etchelon Dorongail, and moved south to the city of Wildervel.
Your parents would often make trips back to Faervel for reasons they would not discuss with you, and they never let you come along, saying "it's too dangerous". While they were away, they would leave you under the care of Lerenor and Teveril Ellavorn, who were trusted family friends. In addition to keeping a watchful eye on you, Lerenor served as your personal tutor, teaching you elven history, law, religion, and astronomy. He and his wife were well respected in the local druid's circle, and they also taught you the basic knowledge of plants and animals.
