-Blackguards are shadow warriors that embrace the power of what most people consider to be a vice or a dark emotion. A blackguard's vice becomes a central focus to that individual's divine power, rather than faith in a deity or devotion to good or evil. Because malevolent deities and wicked forces in the cosmos are more likely to hold a vice in esteem most blackguards are antipaladins. Nevertheless, blackguards to higher ideals do exist. The blackguard has the following class features.

-Alignment: Unless otherwise stated under a particular vice, Paladin blackguards can be of any alignment other than Evil and antipaladin blackguards can be any alignment other than Good.
-Dreadful Smite (Su): Once per day, a blackguard can call upon the powers granted to them by their vice. As a swift action, the blackguard chooses one target within range to smite. The blackguard adds her Cha bonus to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level as negative energy damage to their attacks against the target of her smite. Regardless of the target, dreadful smite attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess. This ability replaces the Paladin's Smite Evil or the Antipaladin's Smite Good.
-Vice: Each blackguard devotes themselves to one of several vices, augmenting their code of conduct and their abilities.
-Champion of Vice (Su): The blackguard's 20th level class feature, whether they are an antipaladin or a paladin, interact with their dread smite rather than smite good or smite evil. A particular vice may have a different class feature in its place, in which case it takes precedence over this one.
-Code of Conduct: Blackguards may have changes to their code of conduct based upon the vice she is devoted to.

Blackguard Vice: Domination
-The world demands order. Chaos is a cancer, undermining civilization's advance, fomenting crimes, sowing discord, and encouraging upheaval. Understanding the world's crying need, you crusade for order at any cost. When necessary, you enforce your will harshly, making examples of the disobedient.
-Good and evil are methods, not ends- they can both bring stability. You might attempt to serve the greater good even if your methods can be harsh. To channel your vice, you might seek out the basest threats to stability, such as demons, marauding monsters, and other chaotically minded evildoers. Only antipaladin blackguards give into true tyranny, destroying then hearts and minds of subjects to make certain they obey every command.
-Within a group, you push for ideas that involve imposing order on the situation most effectively. You might have little tolerance for disorganization, even if such a state encourages freedom. You support authority, acknowledging the most effective leader of a group you're in even if that individual is not you. However, you expect a leader to handle situations competently or to step down. Domination is earned, not claimed.
-The blackguard of domination has the following class features.
-Alignment: Paladin blackguards of domination must be Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral. Antipaladin blackguards of domination must be Lawful Neutral or Lawful Evil.
-Detect Chaos (Sp): At-will, a blackguard of domination can use detect chaos, as the spell. A blackguard can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is chaotic, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the blackguard of domination does not detect chaos in any other object or individual within range. This replaces the Antipaladin's Detect Good or the Paladin's Detect Evil
-Command (Sp): Beginning at 2nd level, a blackguard of domination gains the ability to use command as the spell, a number of times per day equal to half her paladin level + her Charisma modifier. Unlike the command spell, this may be used on undead creatures and constructs and this has a duration equal to their paladin level, granting a Will save to break free from the effect at the start of each of the commanded creature's action. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the blackguard's level + the blackguard's Charisma modifier. This replaces the Antipaladin's Touch of Corruption and Cruelties or the Paladin's Lay on Hands and Mercies.
-Greater Command (Sp): Beginning at 4th level, a blackguard of domination gains the ability to use greater command as the spell. This uses two uses of the blackguard's command spell-like ability. This functions identically to the spell except the DC of the save to attempt to break free or to resist the effect is equal to 10 + 1/2 the blackguard's level + the blackguard's Charisma modifier, and this may be used on creatures of the undead or construct types. This replaces the Antipaladin's Channel Negative Energy or the Paladin's Channel Positive Energy.
-(Antipaladin Only) Spells: All spells on the antipaladin's spell list of the chaotic descriptor are replaced with their lawful equivalent, if one exists.
-Divine Bond/Fiendish Boon (Domination) (Sp): Instead of choosing to form a bond with a weapon or a creature, a blackguard of domination acquires the ability to cast Dominate Person as a spell-like ability 1/day, with a save DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the blackguard's level + the blackguard's Charisma modifier. The duration of this effect is based upon the blackguard's level but she may not have more than one creature under the effects of of dominate person by means of this class feature at a given time.
-At 9th level, and again at 12th, 15th, and 18th, a blackguard of domination can pick any three creature types. These types of creature may be effected by Dominate Person as if they were humanoids.
-Dominating Champion (Su): At 20th level, a blackguard of domination becomes a conduit for the power of order. Her DR increases to 10/law. Whenever she uses dread smiteand successfully strikes a lawful outsider, the outsider is also subject to a banishment, using her paladin level as the caster level (her weapon and holy symbol automatically count as objects that the subject hates). After the banishment effect and the damage from the attack is resolved, the smite immediately ends. In addition, the save to resist or break free of their command or greater command is increased by 5.
-Code of Conduct: Law is far more important than either good or evil. A blackguard of domination must be of lawful alignment and loses all class features except proficiencies if she ever willingly commits a chaotic act. Additionally, a blackguard of domination's code requires that she respect legitimate authority, keep their word, and punish those that threaten to disrupt order.

Blackguard Vice: Envy
-It is natural to desire that which others hold, but the blackguard of envy is one of a few capable of utilizing this intrinsic desire. You have witnessed the magics wielded by others, and you have grown jealous. Rather than taking up training to wield their spells you have decided to take it upon yourself to take from them everything they hold. In turn, your envy and their magics become your strength.
-The blackguard of envy has the following class features.
-Alignment: A paladin blackguard of envy can be any alignment other than evil. An antipaladin blackguard of envy can be any alignment other than good.
-Detect Spellcaster (Sp): The blackguard is capable of detecting the presence of spellcasters in their immediate area along with their strength. This functions as the detect evil or detect good class feature, except it detects creatures possessing the ability to cast spells. For the purpose of determining the strength of the aura, treat their Caster Level as their Hit Die, and use the line based on class levels (cleric, paladin, ect.) This alters and replaces the Paladin's Detect Evil, or the Antipaladin's Detect Good.
-Spell-Sapping Smite (Su): When a blackguard of envy uses their dread smite, rather than dealing additional damage they drain a total number of spell slot levels equal to their paladin level, to a minimum of 1. These are drained starting from the highest level spell slots the target possesses, and cannot be used to steal a spell slot greater than the total number of spell levels the blackguard of envy can steal.
-Once these spell slots have been stolen the blackguard of envy may put them to use in one of the following ways. The blackguard of envy may divide these stolen spell slot levels between any number of effects up to her Charisma modifier.

The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into temporary hit points, equal to the number of spell slot levels stolen. These temporary hit points decay at a rate of 1 point per round, and may not exceede her paladin level.
The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into a sacred or profane bonus to her armor. This bonus is equal to half the spell slots levels stolen, and lasts for a number of rounds equal to half of her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier, to a minimum of 1.

Starting at 3rd level, the blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into a sacred or profane bonus to her attacks. This bonus is equal to half the spell slot levels stolen, and lasts for a number of rounds equal to half of her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier, to a minimum of 1.

Starting at 4th level, a blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into spell energy she can use. To replenish a spell slot, a blackguard of envy trades away two stolen spell slot levels per level of the spell slot. The spell that was prepared in that spell slot is restored with it.

Starting at 8th level, a blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into a sacred or profane bonus to one of her saves. This bonus is equal to half the spell slot levels stolen, and lasts for an umber of rounds equal to half her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier, to a minimum of 1.

Starting at 11th level, the blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may convert stolen spell slot levels into a sacred or profane bonus to her damage rolls. This bonus is equal to half the spell slot levels stolen, and lasts for a number of rounds equal to half of her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier, to a minimum of 1.

Starting at 14th level, the blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may use stolen spell slot levels to enhance her lay on hands or touch of corruption. The next time she uses lay on hands or touch of corruption, it heals or deals an additional number of points of damage equal to the spell slot levels spent.

Starting at 17th level, the blackguard of envy gains the following option.

The blackguard of envy may use stolen spell slot levels to dispel and counter spell effects. A blackguard of envy may store up to 20 stolen spell slot levels into this ability, and put them to use in a number of ways. She may expend these stolen spell slot levels to dispel a currently ongoing spell effect by expending a total number of spell slot levels equal to the level of the spell she wishes to dispel. She may also use this to counterspell, expending the same number of spell slot levels as the level of the spell you are countering. The blackguard of envy still needs to succeed on a spellcraft check but instead uses her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier to determine the results of the check. She may also, by expending 20 stolen spell slot levels, cast mage's disjunction.

This replaces all of the antipaladin's or paladin's aura class features.

Blackguard Vice: Fury
-Anger is a common emotion on the battlefield. It's perfectly natural to feel fury when enemies kill a friend or when a traitor betrays you and your companions. Frustration is bound to arise when a foe slips away or an objective remains out of reach. Such rage is hardly a vice.
-Fury's dark side arises when it occludes thought, when it rules action, and when it harms without thought for the consequences. Blackguards who indulge in their fury run the risk of losing control and striking out at anyone in their path. Guilt and innocence become meaningless concepts to a warrior in fury's throes. Such apaldins can work terrible acts when consumed in their passions.
-When fury is your vice, you might be temperamental and violent. You could erupt at the slightest provocation, resorting to hostility to solve your problems. Or you might make effort to maintain control when you need to, letting the hound of fury loose only when it is needed. Even then, if pushed too far, you risk exploding. If you aim to keep your fury under control, your biggest fear is hurting someone or something you value.
-The blackguard of fury has the following class features.
-Alignment: Paladin Blackguards of Fury can be any alignment aside from Lawful or Evil. Antipaladin Blackguards of fury can be any alignment aside from Lawful or Good.
-Rage (Ex): Blackguards of fury can give themselves to an unrestrained fury, granting her additional combat prowess. Starting at 2nd level, a blackguard can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier. At each level after 2nd, she can rage for 2 additional rounds. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as those gained from rage and spells like bear's endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a blackguard can rage per day. A blackguard can enter rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.
-While in rage, a blackguard gains a +4 morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per Hit Dice, but these disappear when the rage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While in rage, a blackguard cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.
-A blackguard can end her rage as a free action and is fatigued after rage for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds spent in the rage. A blackguard cannot enter a new rage while fatigued or exhausted but can otherwise enter rage multiple times during a single encounter or combat. If a barbarian falls unconscious, her rage immediately ends, placing her in peril of death. This replaces the Antipaladin's Touch of Corruption or the Paladin's Lay on Hands.
-Rage Powers (Ex): As the blackguard of fury gains level, she learns to use her rage in new ways. Starting at 3rd level, and every 3 levels thereafter, she gains a rage power. Her paladin levels count as barbarian levels for the purpose of meeting prerequisites. This replaces the Antipaladin's Cruelties or the Paladin's Mercies.
-(Paladin Only) Spells: All spells on the paladin's spell list of the lawful descriptor are replaced with their chaotic equivalent, if one exists.
-(Paladin Only) Divine Bond (Sp): Paladin blackguards of fury add the anarchic weapon property to the list of weapon properties she may add to their weapon. Paladin blackguards of fury may not apply the axiomatic weapon property to their weapon by means of the divine bond class feature.
-Bleeding Raw Hatred (Su): At 8th level, while raging, all of the blackguard's attacks deal 1d6 additional damage, but she takes 2 points of damage. At 11th level and every 3 levels thereafter, the amount of damage she deals increases by 1d6 and the amount of damage she takes increases by 1. This replaces the Antipaladin's Aura of Despair, Aura of Vengeance, Aura of Sin, and Aura of Depravity, or the Paladin's Aura of Resolve, Aura of Justice, Aura of Faith, and Aura of Righteousness.
-Greater Rage (Ex): At 11th level, when a blackguard of fury enters rage, the morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution increases to +6 and the morale bonus on her Will saves increases to +3.
-Tireless Rage (Ex): Starting at 17th level, a blackguard of fury no longer becomes fatigued at the end of her rage.
-Code of Conduct: A blackguard of fury is counted as unwillingly violating their code of conduct if she violates it while in rage.

Blackguard Vice: Gluttony
-All living things have to consume something to stay alive. Most that can enjoy anything find delight in sating their hunger. Whether it be of animal or plant, no matter what it came from or the term of that thing's demise, it is no vice.
-When gluttony is your vice, you take these things to an extreme. Every scrap within reach is yours to consume. Even when hunger has long passed you desire more, and you derive pleasure from every bite. Perhaps you cannot help yourself, watching as you consume everything before you regardless of what actions you take otherwise. Perhaps, you don't want to help yourself, giving in to the vile hunger and being driven to do what ever it takes to find something more to consume, be it dead or perhaps still living.
-The blackguard of gluttony has the following class features.
-Devouring Smite (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a blackguard of gluttony acquires a bite attack. If used as part of a full-attack action, the bite attack is made at the blackguard's full base attack bonus -5. If the bite hits, it deals 1d4 points of damage (assuming she is Medium, 1d3 if she is Small, 1d6 if she is Large) plus half of the blackguard's Strength modifier. As a move action, a number of times per day equal to half of her paladin level + her Charisma modifier, a blackguard may increase the damage of her bite attack as if she were one size larger (1d3 to 1d4, 1d4 to 1d6, 1d6 to 1d8, so on).
-Merciful Gluttony/Cruel Gluttony (Su): As normal a blackguard acquires mercies and cruelties. Mercies are applied normally and grant a 1 minute immunity to the effects she removes upon using restorative gluttony, and cruelties are applied when the blackguard uses devouring smite. This alters the Antipaladin's Cruelties or the Paladin's Mercies.
-Restorative Gluttony (Ex): Starting at 4th level, a blackguard of gluttony becomes capable of great feats of self-restoration. She may heal 6 hit points per two paladin levels she possesses as a Move action; doing so consumes two uses of her devouring smite and requires that she consume food, drink, or drugs as part of the action. This replaces the Antipaladin's Channel Negative Energy or the Paladin's Channel Positive Energy.
-Divine Bond/Fiendish Boon (Bite) (Sp): Instead of forming a bond with a creature or a manufactured weapon, a blackguard of gluttony forms a weapon bond with her teeth. This functions in all ways as the antipaladin's fiendish boon (weapon) or the paladin's divine bond (weapon), except that it is formed with their bite. This alters the Antipaladin's Fiendish Boon or the Paladin's Divine Bond.
-All-Consuming Hunger (Ex): A Blackguard of Gluttony's monstrous hunger is almost impossible to sate; at 8th level she gains the Grab special attack linked to their Bite attack. This replaces a Paladin's Aura of Resolve or an Antipaladin's Aura of Despair.
-Devouring Whole Worlds (Ex): The emptiness in their bellies is almost too much to stand - at 11th level, a Blackguard of Gluttony gains the Swallow Whole special quality. The blackguard deals damage each round to a creature she has swallowed whole equal to the damage their bite attack deals when enhanced by devouring smite. If a creature she has swallowed whole dies, she may utilize restorative gluttony as a swift action, the dead creature counting as food for this purpose. In addition, she is considered to be one size larger for the purposes of what she can swallow at 14th level, and two sizes larger at 17th level. This replaces a Paladin's Aura of Justice, Aura of Faith, and Aura of Righteousness, or an Antipaladin's Aura of Vengeance, Aura of Sin, and Aura of Depravity.

Blackguard Vice: Irreverence
-While there are those that lack respect for the deities, few hold them in less esteem than you. The gods have shown you ill favor and you have returned it in kind. As time grows on you learn to turn this hatred into power as any blackguard does with their vice. Whether you pledge yourself only to your sword or to the service of god-like entities such as demon lords, your mission in this life is clear. To bring ruin to the gods and their servants, and to show them that there is power in being parted from them.
-The blackguard of irreverence has the following class features.
-Alignment: Paladin blackguards of irreverence cannot be evil, though few are good aligned. Antipaladin blackguards of irreverence cannot be good.
-Detect the Faithful (Sp): Instead of acquiring the ability to detect good or detect evil, a blackguard of irreverence acquires the ability to cast detect the faithful. This replaces and functions as the Paladin's Detect Evil or the Antipaladin's Detect Good.
-Faith-Stealing Smite: Whenever the Blackguard of Irreverence strikes a creature under the effects of their Dreadful Smite who is capable of casting divine spells, their target must make a Will saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 the blackguard's level + the blackguard's Charisma modifier) or be unable to cast any divine spells for 1 round. Once a creature makes this save. it is immune to further faith-stealing smites from that particular blackguard of irreverence. This ability is bestowed along with Dread Smite when the blackguard of irreverence utilizes Aura of Justice or Aura of Vengeance. This alters the Paladin's Aura of Justice or the Antipaladin's Aura of Vengeance.
-Forsake Divinity: Blackguards of irreverence may not prepare and cast divine spells from another class, with the exception of ur-priest (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?374471-Alternative-Class-Ur-Priest-PEACH), however she may add half of her levels in other divine spellcasting classes to her paladin level for the purpose of determining her caster level for paladin or antipaladin spells. Should she ever acquire levels in ur-priest, she may count all her levels in paladin instead of half of them for the purpose of determining her ur-priest caster level.
-Divine Spell Resistance (Su): Starting at 2nd level, a blackguard of irreverence gains a spell resistance equal to her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier, but only against divine spells and the spell-like abilities of outsiders. This replaces the antipaladin's Unholy Resilience or the paladin's Divine Grace.
-Code of Conduct: In addition to maintaining their alignment within a certain range, a blackguard of irreverence's code requires she practice a strict code of non-worship in regards to deities. She must never use the name of any deity as part of an oath, use a holy symbol or holy water for any purpose, quote from any holy books, or be the willing subject of a spell cast by any divine spellcaster who claims to draw power from any specific deity.

Blackguard Vice: Masochism
-All living things feel pain. From the cleaving of flesh by a blade, the breaking of bone by a sudden blow, even the faintest twinge of a stubbed toe. What is vice, is not the experiencing of this but the delight in it and the pursuit of it. Perhaps you once were afraid but were broken, or maybe you always felt this way. Agony others cringe at the mere thought of brings you delight, and in that you draw power. Not just power from your own pain, but the terror your pleasure causes in others. Are you one who lives life to experience every pain imaginable, to taste of every sweet agony, or perhaps you are one that seeks to take all pain upon yourself so others need not experience it, selfless in your vice if not for the euphoria it brings.
-The blackguard of masochism has the following class features.
-Pain is Pleasure (Ex): Blackguards of masochism, be it by birth or by some event, delight in the pain she receives. She gains a +1 class bonus on saving throws made against pain effects. This bonus increases by one every 3 levels thereafter.
-Pain is Power (Ex): At 2nd level, a blackguard of masochism begins to draw power from the pain she experiences. Whenever a blackguard of masochism takes damage, she gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and a +2 morale bonus on damage rolls for one round. Either bonus cannot exceed the damage taken by the largest hit taken in the past round. These bonuses increase by +1 for every two paladin levels she possesses. This replaces the Antipaladin's Touch of Corruption or the Paladin's Lay on Hands.
-(Paladin) Merciful Agony (Su): Whenever a paladin blackguard of masochism takes damage, as a swift action she may apply the effects of her mercies to herself and becomes invulnerable to any effects she cures for 1 minute. She may do this a number of times per day equal to half her paladin level + her Charisma modifier. This alters the Paladin's Mercies.
-(Antipaladin) Cruel Agony (Su): Whenever an antipaladin blackguard of masochism takes damage, as a swift action she may apply the effects of her cruelties to her attacker as if she had used touch of corruption upon them. She may do this a number of times per day equal to half her antipaladin level + her Charisma modifier. This alters the Antipaladin's Cruelties.
-Lust for Agony (Su): At 4th level, a blackguard of masochism's desire for pain increases further. She may, as a move action, add her Charisma modifier to all attacks made against her. The following round, she may add her Charisma modifier to her damage rolls on top of the damage bonus granted by pain is power. This replaces the Antipaladin's Channel Negative Energy or the Paladin's Channel Positive Energy.
-Horrific Delight (Su): At 11th level, the blackguard of masochism's enjoyment of pain begins to effect their foes. By expending two uses of her Dread Smite ability, she may bestow half of her her morale bonuses from pain is power as morale penalties to all enemies within 10 feet. This penalty changes with her morale bonuses from pain is power. This effect lasts for 1 minute. This replaces the Antipaladin's Aura of Vengence or the Paladin's Aura of Justice.

Blackguard Vice: Lust
-Lust is felt by all that breath, and even by many that no longer. Although it is natural, you have taken it to an extreme. Drawing strength from the most primal of our desires, you have become a force of reckoning. Your foes find you irresistible as you inflict upon them your vice and embrace your own, ripping them apart as you attempt to sate your own desires. Or perhaps you have learned to take the powers of your vice and wield them to protect and heal others, drawing the attention of your enemies and being more readily able to mend the wounds of your allies. Whatever your path, whether you wish to embrace your vice or have become a victim of it, lust is very much a part of you.
-The blackguard of lust has the following class features.
-Sensual Hand (Su): Starting at 2nd level, blackguards of lust learn to mend or cause wounds through embracing their vice. When using lay on hands or touch of corruption upon a target that they are in direct sensual contact* with, the damage or healing done is empowered and they may double the duration of a single cruelty they possess or have a condition normally removed for one hour by one of their mercies removed for two hours. A blackguard of lust cannot use touch of corruption or lay on hands without being in this sort of contact with their target. This alters the Antipaladin's Touch of Corruption or the Paladin's Lay on Hands.

*Direct sensual contact can be anything from kissing to actually having sex with the target. This does not include any contact where there is anything blocking contact between the blackguard and their target, such as through fabric or armor. I am leaving this open ended because more strict definitions may be more suitable for some campaigns, where as leaving it as having it so a blackguard can simply kiss their target to utilize the effect may be more suitable for others. I would go into specifics and chart things out, even denoting if the individual has to be willing for the specific effect to work or not, maybe even denote some acts have greater effects, but that would more than likely be too explicit for these forums. As a rule of thumb, anything so simple as a kiss requires the target be willing (or charmed). Things beyond that do not require the target be willing.

Blackguard Vice: Pride

Flavor text.
-Alignment: Paladin blackguards of pride must be Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral. Antipaladin blackguards of pride must be Lawful Neutral or Lawful Evil.

So I'm bouncing around ideas for additional vices to add to this archetype, something that I want to do just as mud has I want to make sure the current ones are alright. So far we have:

Dominance, which revolves around taking control of others, and fury, which revolves around giving one's self to rage. How balanced they are, I think they are fine but thats what I have the playground for. To tell me Im wrong and how to fix it.

Now, as for others, I'm not so sure. Sure we could go with the Seven Deadly Sins/Vices:

Envy- "I want that which is yours." Making this I would have to say I would likely make it be one that is built around using abilities others use. Something that duplicates spell effects and such, but I feel it might be a complicated mechanic to work out.

Gluttony- If I make this, I imagine it could turn into a 'tanking' blackguard. A slower blackguard perhaps, but one that can take damage. You gorge yourself for the pleasure of it, but in battle this means you are more durable and even a glutton for punishment. Thats my first thought anyways

Greed- This is one I am at a complete loss for ability wise.

Lust- If I make this, I could see it being fairly charm-centric. I feel though, this might wind up too similar that way to our good friend, the blackguard of domination. Flavor wise it would be distinct, ability wise I would want to find a way to make it distinct.

Pride- This, I wouldn't know what to do with. Perhaps pride such that they become resilient against magic effects? I don't know.

Sloth- Blackguard of lazyness. All I can think here is make it a summoning-centric blackguard, having others do the blackguard's work for them. Thats about it though.

Wrath- We already have this in the form of fury, so we don't need to worry bout that.

To cover multiple bases I could combine a few and just turn out the vice of indulgence. I considered making one that consumes substances in excess, such as drugs and alcohol, but I'm not certain how to approach it either and would I make it separate or one in the same with indulgence? Theres what i've covered above and there are plenty of things I am sure I have not, some more or less appropriate.

I could see a Blackguard of Gluttony being based off of overconsumption; I could see replacing Channel Positive Energy with Restorative Gluttony.

Restorative Gluttony (Ex): The Glutton is capable of great feats of self-restoration. A Glutton may use Lay on Hands on themselves as a Move action; doing so consumes two uses of their Lay on Hands and requires that the Blackguard consume food, drink, or drugs as part of the action.
Whenever they use Lay on Hands on themselves as a Move action, the amount they heal is Maximized, and they are immune to any Conditions their Mercies could remove for one minute.

Their Smite could include a Bite attack, eventually scaling up to Swallow Whole.

I like these ideas. Though, would the same ability be bestowed to antipaladins that take up the archetype path or would they receive something else?

Also, when it comes to the bite attack would it take the place of anything or would it be tacked on? How would it scale? when would swallow whole enter the equation? When would grab with bite enter the equation? I really do want to do this one but some things do need sorted out.

edit: I think i got it. Made some minor changes, as to not need to perhaps do something separate between paladins and antipaladins of this sub archetype, least on this ability. Could use advice, least on shifting things around.

Greed should be all about taking apart enemies through their own greed. Offering tempations, messing with their perceptions, which leads them to do things like, submit themselves to curses and hexes that debilitate.

"You know you want this."

And the crowner should be Petrifying enemies into statues of gold, like a Midas Touch effect.

In other words, Distracted by Shinies coupled with nasty debuffing.

This could prove to be interesting. I will work on it later today, whether more advice comes in for it or not. Thank you for the suggestion, I might not have come upon that on my own. Playing off of other people's vice rather than simply embracing one's own.

Well, glad I am of help.

Pride should be about weakening the opponent by removing their own security (by making them still think they have it).

"Oh you have Dr 20/-?" Hits with sword.

"Hah! Didn't even hurt me!" Doesn't realize he's bleeding and down by 20 more hit points than he actually is.

It should be about goading your enemies into not realizing their ineptitude.

Looks good; I'd suggest replacing All-Consuming Hunger with the following:

All-Consuming Hunger (Ex): A Blackguard of Gluttony's monstrous hunger is almost impossible to sate; at 8th level they gain the Grab special attack linked to their Bite attack. This replaces a Paladin's Aura of Resolve or an Antipaladin's Aura of Despair.

Devouring Whole Worlds (Ex): The emptiness in their bellies is almost too much to stand - at 11th level, a Blackguard of Gluttony gains the Swallow Whole special quality. In addition, they are considered to be one size larger for the purposes of what they can swallow at 14th level, and two sizes larger at 17th level. This replaces a Paladin's Aura of Justice, Aura of Mercy, and Aura of Justice, or an Antipaladin's Aura of Vengeance, Aura of Sin, and Aura of Depravity.

Yes, that does mean that high level Blackguards of Gluttony can swallow creatures that are a size category larger than they are. Don't ask how it works.

It is done, and I love it. Blackguards of Gluttony are actually the most terrifying now. Though even more so if vorpal can be applied to their bite attack. Imagine; The party is up against a blackguard and the blackguard simply grabs someone, rips their head off with their teeth and eats it. The rest of them likely following soon thereafter.

Ideally, they should all carry that level of raw fear.

I'm thinking they should all get something to replace the Auras at 8th, 11th, 14th, and 17th. Maybe the Blackguard of Fury gets the following:

Bleeding Raw Hatred (Su): Let me tell you something about anger; it grows, it eats, it destroys. There's no sating it, or quieting it, or reasoning with it. There's nothing but the bare, naked, sound of a fist striking bone forever. At 8th level, while Raging, all of your attacks deal 1d6 additional damage, but you take 2 damage; at 11th level, and every 3 levels thereafter, the amount of damage you deal increases by 1d6 and the amount of damage you take increases by 1.

Greater Rage (Ex): Blackguards get this at level 11! Wooh!

Tireless Rage (Ex): Blackguards get this at level 17! Wooh!

I'll come up with something for Lust and Sloth at some point.

I agree entirely, they should all invoke that. I like your abilities suggested so they have now been implemented. Perhaps something should be developed for the Blackguard of Domination to replace the auras as well. I'll think of something if no one else does.

I look forward to seeing something being developed for lust and sloth, if only in concept. Maybe i'll think of something first.

Edit: Something needs addressed. Swallow whole needs to have damage assigned to it. I think I should ascribe to it damage not dissimilar to the advancement of Lay on Hands/Touch of Corruption, as I had before, but I'm not certain. What do you think?

Edit (2): Thank you.

I'd go with basing the damage off they deal with their Bite attack when they spend a use per day "enhancing" it.

Alright. Some things that should be addressed:

Domination: Do we add abilities that replace the auras. If so, what keeps to their theme? What would be appropriate there? Im thinking something should be added, but too much and what difference really is there between paladin and antipaladin for domination at that point?

Gluttony: Should there be anything specified regarding interactions between Swallow Whole and Restorative Gluttony? If so, what?

-

Greed and Pride: I see both, given the presented ideas, to be difficult to manage. Both become debuffers. One tempts others (charms) and they then throw their saves on debuffs. The other may debuff, but becomes more of a matter of illusory effects on an individual level. Against players, the latter could prove for some interesting encounters, but as a player how will your average monster act differently against you between X hp and Y hp unless that difference is actually death?

Im thinking pride might be best served as one that deals in Morale bonuses for themselves, to a lesser extend to their allies even, and perhaps even inflicting morale penalties on enemies. Something that would do great in the absence of a bard.

Greed, I'm not sure. I, at this moment, would like to avoid any that depend upon taking advantage of other people's vices and focus on the blackguard utilizing their own vice. Keeping to that flavor, even if it does make creating things more difficult.

Masochism comes to mind as a potential vice. Drawing buffs from taking damage, even able to deal damage to self for bonuses. Of course inspiration can be drawn from the Pain Taster PrC for what sorts of abilities to give it. Just a thought.

If anyone wants to suggest a vice, I encourage you to be creative in not just what they would get or do, but even what the vice is in the first place. You need not flesh the whole thing out of course, technically that would be my job here, but giving me things to work with helps. I got up a frame, and I got three paths sitting there as examples.

I'm thinking that Lust, instead of focusing on commanding effects, could make an efficient tank. They get an ability that draws enemies towards them, and imposes penalty after penalty to things like attack bonuses and saves, and laying on hands would offer even more numerical penalties while healing for only half damage, or a touch of corruption would do 50% more damage/double the length of any one cruelty used in it, so long as the contact is sensual (kissing, groping, etcetera; would probably be best to have a grapple check be made if the target is unwilling).

This idea intrigues me. Its certainly a differing approach to it, one that would do well given the right abilities. I think, when I get to fleshing out blackguards of lust, I may go this route. Thank you for contributing it.

Y'elcome. Another idea would be to have them get a sacred/profane bonus to their AC equal to their Charisma modifier against any and all attacks made by those affected by their attraction ability, however that works. Also, for the rough draft of the modifications to the Lay On Hands/Touch of Corruption, I'd like to suggest that the rules for using the ability on oneself are unchanged. Then again, thrusting one's fingers down their knickers shouldn't be too hard of a thing to do, if that would count as sensual contact, so they can just fluff it as such, I suppose.

Manly Man

Yet another idea that comes to mind is for the Pride vice. As you mentioned, it could be focused on buffing and debuffing, but what I was thinking was that, while the buffing could be spread to the whole party, the debuffing would be mostly single-target. Have something like the Challenge ability that Cavaliers and Samurai get, but instead of the stuff that they can tack on based on their Order, the Blackgaurd makes it that the enemy is forced to engage them, and them only. You know, a glove-slap kind of thing, sort of like the ability that the Knights in 3.5 got. Because of the commanding nature of the vice, the alignment restrictions should be that the Paladins can't be Evil or Chaotic, while the Antipaladins can be neither Good nor Chaotic.

Greed I'm thinking would be more of a defensive thing, and focus on countering spells, or absorbing them to power their attacks, damage, Armor Class, or saves.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will implement them, in some form or another, when I'm ready to sit down and hammer things out here. I've put in spaces for them and done some work, and in time will do much more.

Update:

Masochism Complete, though I think it wouldn't hurt to give it more I have addressed all that is needed for it to function.

Added ability to all vices, though one with a unique, that addresses their level 20 class feature. Given that dread smite replaces smite good/evil, I figured it was appropriate that be addressed.

We are now up to 4 complete vices, two were inherent to 4e, 2 are brand new. I intend to work on others at a later date. As always, input of any kind is always welcome.

Manly Man

As I had mentioned with the idea for the Greed vice being about the absorption of or countering spells, my first thought is that their primary ability would be for them to drain spells from their opponents with Dreadful Smite instead of doing the negative energy damage. The spells get 'stolen', and are used to refill the Blackguard's spells for the day, dividing the spell's level between whatever the Blackguard may have available (say, a Blackguard 18 stole a 9th-level spell, he could restore one 4th, 3rd, and 2nd-level spell of his own, or some other combination thereof). If they either don't have spells yet or their spells are full, then they get stacking temporary hp equal to twice the level of the spell stolen, or if there's any 'leftovers' from the spells stolen, they're used to determine how many temporary hp they gain. The highest spell level that a Blackguard of Greed can steal at a time is equal to half of their class level, the most they can 'hold' in them is equal to their class level, with cantrips and orisons giving nothing. They can only do this when Smiting ability though, and it only works on spellcasters.

At later points, likely replacing the auras, they can use the excess spell levels for things other than temporary hp. I'm thinking a sacred/profane bonus to their Armor Class on Aura of Good, attack rolls for Aura of Courage, one type of save for Aura of Resolve (maybe expanding it to two or all three kinds of saves at later levels), Aura of Justice would be damage rolls, Aura of Faith could be a bonus to how much they heal/damage with their Lay On Hands/Touch of Corruption ability, and instead of Aura of Righteousness, they get to dispel magical effects by spending the extra levels, working on effects up to as many levels of absorbed spells they have. not sure what to have for their Champion of Vice effect, though. Maybe spending all twenty of the collected spell levels at once to make a sort of mage's disjunction effect? No single-target disjunction either, and the burst is only twenty feet. Very much a sort of 'If I can't have it, the no one can' kind of ability.

Then again, this is Greed based on a desire for power, not material wealth, and so it might be better off for the Envy vice instead. I'm not sure how the Greed one would work if it was more miserly; perhaps having it affect things such as magic item usage, or large bonuses to Diplomacy or Bluff checks to convince people to offer things at either a much lower price or for free? That would lead to a lot of trouble though, because if you're in a very detailed game that focuses on social interaction a lot, you're going to be broken as all get-out, but if you play a more kick-in-the-door game, your powers are going to be next to useless.

UPDATE!

I've decided to go on the route of Blackguard of Envy rather than Blackguard of Greed. Its still in the incomplete stage but far exceeds its companion sub-archetypes in that section. I've got the class feature(s) for it in, but I do have to hammer out the number game for balance and clean up the text.

Additional update:

The Blackguard of Irreverence.

Updates: Blackguard of Envy and Blackguard of Irreverence have joined the rest of the vices. They may or may not require tweaks and the flavor text could use expansion, but I feel confident that they belong among the completed ones.

While I am still all for completing the two still rendered incomplete or even adding more to the mix, and I appreciate the feedback thus far, I have had another idea that I wanted to run by everyone. Three words:

Blackguard Secondary Classes.

This is really cool. I especially like the Domination Vice. Would love to play an antipaladin version of that. I agree some of these could use a bit more flavor or conceptual depth. It would be interesting to have a code of conduct for the envy vice, for instance.

Also, yes please for secondary class write-ups on these!

At some point i'll give envy, and perhaps others, their own codes of conduct.

Speaking of envy, I've completed write ups for all currently existing vices -except- for envy. That one, i'll complete later.

Edit: I've added an ability to the Blackguard of Envy, allowing them to detect spellcasters at will. VMC Blackguard of Envy is closer to completion.
