Is there anywhere a race (including dragon Mag) that is giant subtype, but does not pay the +1 LA that half giant does?

Cyclopeans. Dragon 323 page 95. La 0 giants and the menta are a good choice for the primordial template.

Did you mean "type?" Giant is a type in 3.5, it's only a subtype in PF.

If LA buyoff is allowed you can drop the LA from Half-Giant and Goliath pretty quickly.

So they are giant type because they have it listed in their lore? Looked them up, and dont see it in the actual description for menta. But they are clearly called out as giants in their fluff...

If you take cyclopean you can grab the Primordial template for at will invisibility and +4 to int and charisma if you want to go caster.

Yea. Sadly DragMag has some issues with quality at times. I've only ever seen them ruled to be giants. If your DM doesn't like that Half-Giant becomes your next best bet.

If DragonMag is allowed, does that mean that 3rd party is allowed as well?

Granted, the entry is pathfinder, but races are modular enough it's not a big deal. Rite Publishing has its own giant race that it even bundled up with a 20 level class if it helps. I can get both details for you easily since it's listed as opensource SRD
