Sphereical monster that eats things and spits out clones, what is it?

It's driving me nuts (that's a lie, I've been living comfortable in Nuts for decades now), but I remember there's a 3e critter in a book that's a great big flesh orb, kinda like a Beholder without tentacles or eyestalks, that can spit out loyal duplicates of things that it eats.

For the life of me I can't remember what it's called or what book its from.

I don't remember the name, but I remember seeing it. Either Fiend Folio or MM2, I think.
