Why would 2 powerful red dragons be cooperating with a country in cahoots with Orcus and undead. I'm in a game where this is kinda a perplexing topic. Ideas?

Well, one of the obvious answers is "Power". They may hope to gain power by supporting Orcus's bid. Orcus may have some way to direct his power at them, and they're helping so he doesn't smite them.

Perhaps they're Dragon-Mages interested in Necromancy, and Orcus is supporting their ambitions.

Maybe they're scared of death, and want to preserve themselves as draco-liches.

Maybe they view Orcus and the undead as means to an end... take over the world, then dispose of the upstart godling and his matchsticks and rule together (until you can kill off your rival).

Perhaps they're working towards some other goal... like resurrecting a long-dead sibling, and Orcus has promised them the ability to do so.

Best I can possibly figure is the dragons want to become Dracoliches. There was a good Bronze dragon that got scorched but there is also a VERY power red dragon in the game.

Either:
1. They have an agreement with Orcus that is mutually beneficial.
2. They have figured out that if Orcus gets what he wants, they will get something of value to them, totally independent of any agreement.
3. They are planning to double-cross Orcus and haven't reached that point yet.

In all three cases, we can't know what it is without knowing what the dragons want, and what's been threatening them.
