Okay, the title might have been a bit of an exaggeration, but the game still looks fantastic (http://www.sherlockholmes-thegame.com/). I'm thinking very seriously about buying it.

While I've never tried the game, I read a review that rated it a measly 4/10, in a game magazine whose judgement I usually trust. So I'm thinking very seriously about NOT buying it:smallsmile:
Why is the idea particularly original? Isn't it just a puzzle-solving adventure game?
Sherlock Holmes solving puzzles? How did no one think of that before? :smallwink:

Sherlock Holmes in a world filled with Cthulhu Mythos creatures? Where have you seen that before?

Sherlock Holmes Versus Cthulhu?
Oh my.
Methinks they're running low on the idea train.
And that the adventure genre is clinging to life.
(edito- or you could simi me. that works too)

Meh, I think the best idea for a game will be Huxley. MMOFPSRPG, looks different and interesting.

Looks like someone found a copy of Shadows over Baker Street (http://www.amazon.com/Shadows-Over-Baker-Street-Terror/dp/0345452739/ref=sr_1_1/103-3313983-0897439?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175573569&sr=8-1), and made it into a game.
I'm not terribly interested in adventure games, so I'll refrain from commenting further.

Why would you pit someone known for incredible logical deduction up against a creature that defies all reason?

...
Fun?
A fair part of each of Lovecraft's stories is usually finding out what the hell is going on. Sherlock would be pretty good at that.

Sherlock Holmes vs. Cthulhu?
Gamespot gave it an 8.3....
I think I'll check it out.
