Hey everyone,

My name is Seth Robinson, and my brother and I just created a modular terrain system. The project developed out of our desire to get some good looking modular terrain on the table in a cost-effective way. We aimed at making applicable to many different games and genres. Honestly though, it fits RPG's probably as well as any. You'll be able to create an infinite (almost!) number of boards and maps to play on. We even had the idea that the hexagons could be laid down in a discovery-type mechanic and the players adventured. In any case, our project is Kickstarter now. It is called BattleHex and can be found here: http://bit.ly/bhexks.

While the tiles will not come with any grids printed on them, we have created a template that will allow hexagonal grids to be transferred to the tiles easily if your game of choice requires it. I'll attach a graphic below demonstrating what this looks like.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and have some fantastic stretch goals on the way. Look forward to hearing what everyone thinks, We are already over 75% funded and we would be honored to have you as part of our Kickstarter community.

Any plans to do square tiles or different settings (dungeons, snowy areas, mountains etc.)

Hey there, no plans to do any actual square tiles at this time. You can put a square grid on the hexes, it just limits a little bit of the versatility of the terrain. However, we would really like to expand the system to cover different terrain themes. A barren wasteland/sci-fi theme and an arctic theme are both high on the list.

It looks really good, I just prefer squares to hexes and would like more style versatility. I barely ever set games in plains and grasslands.

Hey everyone, we've had quite a few developments over the course of the campaign that I want to share with everyone.

First, we recently just unlocked elevation risers. These are 1" thick hexagons that fit beneath the tiles to give your battlefield elevation. They can be stacked on top of each other for different tiers, and are paintable as well.

We also developed a set of templates to add grids to the tiles if your game of choice requires it! They worked our wonderfully, and we made both a hexagonal grid and an isometric square grid. Here is what the square grid will allow:

Thanks, everyone! Just 6 days left, and we are almost at our funding goal. Looking forward to reaching that double-sided tile stretch goal. = )
