Yes.

But it's sort of vague. All ''protection spells'' also ''protect'' and worn and carried items, as ''Attended'' equipment is not ''normal'' any more.

So if a spell grants a character fire protection and it works, then, no equipment they carry will be effected.

But it's a little shady for like: if you cast ''fire immunity'' then can you toss a rope through a pillar of fire and climb across? Some DM's would say the role is protected. I'm one of the DM's that says the rope burns.

Most of the time, yes. However, you're still required to roll saving throws because of your equipment. On a rolled 1, some of your equipment gets damaged.
Items Surviving after a Saving Throw

Unless the descriptive text for the spell specifies otherwise, all items carried or worn by a creature are assumed to survive a magical attack. If a creature rolls a natural 1 on its saving throw against the effect, however, an exposed item is harmed (if the attack can harm objects). Refer to Table: Items Affected by Magical Attacks (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/spellDescriptions.htm#tableItemsAffectedbyMagicalA ttacks).
