Has anyone created affiliations for their game, per PHB2? I've just finished one and begun another and realized that they're a fair amount of work, and I'd much rather lend and borrow with the rest of you. With minimal modification, those of us interested in using affiliations should be able to adopt them from other games...
Here's one I've created. Gir-Namne is the god-king of a vast empire, and his priesthood is effectively the ruling class. There would be a separate faction for the empire's military and the empire's spy ring, as well as other organs of the empire.
The Priesthood of Gir-Namne
Symbol: The Tortoise Throne
Background, Goals, and Dreams: Since ancient times, the disciples of Gir-Namne have served him in trusted positions. They are his bureaucrats; to whom he delegates his powers of rulership over the empire. When Gir-Namne conquered the Empire, the Priesthood served as his cadre of officers. It is said that in the time of titans the priesthood hunted by Gir-Namne’s side.
The Priesthood carries out the will of Gir-Namne in exchange for personal power. Entrance to the priesthood is very difficult, consisting of numerous gordian academic tests. Officially the priesthood is open to anyone, but in practice only the wealthy and priveledged can afford the education necessary to pass the tests of entrance.
Members: Most of the priesthood consists of experts or wizards from prominent families who speak six or seven languages and have a majority of their points invested in knowledges. Senior members will also have very high social skills.
For the PCs, affiliation with the priesthood represents a favored status with the priesthood rather than actual membership.
Only Gir-Namne can release a priest from service before his death. Should a priest steeped in the secrets of the empire attempt to flee his responsibilities, a force will be dispatched to arrest him. This force will have an EL 4 greater than the priest’s own ECL. Should this force fail to recover the priest, assassins will be dispatched.

Negotiation: +8

21-29|Associate: the priesthood trusts you with sensitive operations and secrets. You can request a party of lesser agents to assist you (EL8). Purchase spellcasting at 2/3 price.
30+|Hand of Gir-Namne: you are the right hand of the priesthood, trusted as one of their own. You must pass a battery of rigorous academic tests. Failure indicates a loss of 6 affiliation points. If you succeed, you will have the resources of the empire at your fingertips. You may also claim audience with Gir-Namne himself within d6 days. You must skillfully direct other agents in service to the empire, succeeding on a DC10 wisdom check each month which may be assisted by one other character. Failure indicates a loss of 10 affiliation score.[/table]
