Learning hibernate

I've been working with this particular Persistence model (http://hibernate.org/) for awhile. I had no problems so long as I did simple tasks, but I'm reaching a point in my skill level where I need to do more advanced things.

Can anyone recommend a good Hibernate by example tutorial? Or a good overview? The problem I keep running into is not knowing what the patterns are, so I spend a lot of time in the manual researching a methodology which turns out to be sub-standard -- quite some time later.

So can anyone recommend a course, book , or web tutorial that is both accessible but fairly comprehensive?
