Son/Daughter stats

I am not sure whether this is the right place to put it but does anybody know what/ can think of an idea for the stats for the child of someone would be based on the parents?

Assuming they are now an adult.

Well, if you want to be really literal about it, you could total say each base ability score is equal to 10 + father's ability modifier + mother's ability modifier, which is then modified by the usual leveling bonuses.
Honestly, though, it's rarely so straight-forward. There are geniuses who come from not-particularly-brilliant parents, and hulking athletes that come from nerdy parents. I'd just say generate the stats normally.
