Hey, all. This is the first time I've ever tried something like this, so bear with the newb here. Our party is entering a city this Thursday, and they're rather intent on taking down the local theives' guild. Several weeks ago, before the party decided to come here, my DM allowed me to construct several of the cities in the campaign world, to take some of the pressure off of his own shoulders (custom worlds are a lot of work!). However, now that the party is heading straight for the city I built, I'm finding myself scrambling to finish it up. It's a weird sensation, being a character in the party and also a mini-DM at the same time.

In any case, since they want to take down the Theives' Guild, I need to whip together a map or dungeon or something for them to traipse through. The trouble is, I have absolutely no idea how to get started on this.

Any ideas, folks?

If you just want something quick, you might try looking through WotC's Map of the Week archives (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/mw). They have a catacombs (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mapofweek/Dungeon3_ksy_150.jpg) that they suggest might be useful for an underground theives' guild. Find something you like or something you can modify until you get it how you like.

Also, your DM may be planning to design the actual theives guild letting you design the city, that way you'd be surprized as well when you play.
