So, simple question; are elementals capable of being infected by a necrotic cyst? I wanna say yes, but it's an interesting topic.

Yes. Necrotic Cyst targets living creatures.Elementals are normally living. Thus, they are valid targets.

The key to this is that necrotic cysts are not purely biological growths - they are in truth a localized node of concentrated necromantic energy that parasitically preys upon the the target. Elementals are alive (because they have Con scores) and therefore whatever animating force serves as their soul makes them just as vulnerable to a NC as it would for a more traditional "flesh-and-blood" kind of creature.

Translation: it's magic, and pretty black magic at that.

The Book of Better Latin Than It Gets Credit For does have a Necromental template, but that is for outright undead elementals, which is more than I think you are shooting for.
