So I'm starting a Pathfinder game soon where I've chosen to be a Dwarf who (due to his impotence) feels the need to bring life to basically everything he can. This includes, undead, constructs, or animating every day objects. My problem seems to be that we're starting at level one which means that a lot of this stuff is a long way off. And if I choose Necromancy as my school, what other two do I eliminate? What feats should I take? Should I gear them towards constructs or focus on undead early on?

Also our DM is allowing us to take two traits, and one flaw for a feat. As someone who never really used traits before, what traits would be appropriate to my build?

Thanks for your time guys, this is something that's been bugging me for a week.

First of all, about school. I'd suggest looking into Undead School (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/arcane-schools/paizo---arcane-schools/classic-arcane-schools/necromancy/undead) if you really want to be focused on animating. As for opposition schools... Enchantment sounds like the best school to drop. Second is not so clear. I'd think about Evocation even though I hate dropping it.

Traits... Depending on what you want, I can suggest Student of Philosophy (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/social-traits/student-of-philosophy) for being party face or simply driving off people who cannot comprehend the greatness of your goal :smallwink:
Other notable traits I can remember: Eyes and Ears of the City (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/religion-traits/eyes-and-ears-of-the-city-god-of-commerce) for Perception as a class skill; Reactionary (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/combat-traits/reactionary) for Initiative bonus; any of the (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/combat-traits/deft-dodger) traits that boost (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/combat-traits/resilient) your saves (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/faith-traits/indomitable-faith); Focused Mind (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/magic-traits/focused-mind) for Concentration bonus that may be useful early.

I am not so sure about feats for that concept, I need to think about it so I may return to that post later. From the top of my head, Undead Master (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/undead-master) is great for necromancers. Also think about usual options like Improved initiative, Improved Familiar and some metamagic and item creation feats.

For feats I think I might be focusing on creation feats early just so I can get to building constructs earlier rather than later.

And I'd usually agree with you about Evocation, but we're starting at level one and I need to have some functionality before I can start to have my children following us and doing damage for me.

Spirit Binder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/archetypes/paizo---wizard-archetypes/spirit-binder-wizard-archetype) might be the archetype you want. Your familiar gets buffed a bit and contains the spirit of your dead loved one.

First level is when evocation is the least use to a wizard. Color Spray should be your standard attack spell, not burning hands or Magic Missile. Buffs and debuffs come from other schools at that level too. You really can dump evocation.

A note that in Pathfinder Animate Objects is not on the Wizard/Sorcerer list. However, you can use Craft Construct to make permanently Animated Objects.

This is true however I really can't get undead unless we stumble upon them, until level 5. I suppose my use could be as a debuffer with ray of enfeeblement and the like.

Which is why I said I'll be focusing on item creation with my early feats so I can create golems and things of the like.
