So these feats were based on thinking about cell-phone plans late at night. The names might need some work.

Magic Rollover
Prerequisites:
Able to manifest first level spontaneously cast spells.
Benefits:
If you are a spontaneous caster, if at the end of a day you have uncast spell slots the next day you get 3 additional slots of the highest levels which you did not use. If you are a prepared caster, you get the same thing but with slots being considered unused if the spells in them were not cast.

An example may be helpful. Suppose we have a sorceror who is 4th level. So normally, the sorceror can cast per a day 6 level 0 spells, 6 level 1 spells and 3 level 2 spells. Now, if the sorceror today casts 2 level 2 spells and 5 level 1 spells, tommorow the caster will get an extra level 2 slot and 2 extra level 1 slots.

There is also a psionic version of this feat:

Psionic Rollover [Psionic]
Prerequisites:
Must be able to manifest a level 1 power.
Benefits:
If at the end of the day you have power points in your main reserve not spent, you get that many additional power points to your total reserve the next day. You cannot gain more than twice your manifester level in power points this way.

Comment: At first glance the psionic version seems weaker than the spellcasting version since the spellcaster gets potentially three extra castings of their highest level spells. However, the arcane version never lets one cast more than 3 additional spells, whereas the additional power points are more flexible.

Thoughts?

....overpowered?

Easily abusable. Put a max on the amount of "build-up", or you'll have sorcerers who haven't cast for a hundred days having an extra 300 spells when they do fight.

feats should never give you extra spell slots...ever

As it is, this can potentially give 3 extra 9th level spell slots. Make the magic feat give a maximum number of bonus spell levels equal to CL/2. Give it a feat prerequisite that a caster might not normally take to balance the potential extra 9th level spell. Complete Arcane has a feat that grants an extra spell slot equal to your maximum spell level - 1, just for guidelines.
Can't comment on the psionic version.

Um, I thought from the wording it was clear that no more than 3 roll over to the next day.

Hmm, I originally constructed the psionic version. Compared to Psionic Talent it seemed ok, since you have potentially more power points than that feat, but potentially less. But thinking about this more, both of them seem overpowered. Attempted salvages:
for the arcane version, the prereqs is being able to cast 3rd level spells, one only gets one rollover slot, and it goes to 3 levels below what the unused slot was. This means that it initially gives you at best an extra cantrip which is next to useless. Even at level 9 it gives you an extra 6th level spell slot if you didn't use up all your level 9 spells. At low levels, the extra slot is nearly useless (oh wow! I can cast an extra cantrip!) and at upper levels one is more limited in an encounter by the number of actions rather than number of spells (this is the same reason why the Ultimate Magus is not a broken PrC).

Similarly for the psionic version, modify it so that it adds at most the manifester level and only rolls over power points at a 2 to 1 ratio. (That is, if one had not spent 8 power points one could get at most 4 power points extra for the next day). Compared to the power points given from Psionic Talent this seems ok. So how wrong am I?

this is why reserve feats were made..., these are broken feats. A PrC made around the concept ok, a feat? No, never, nine, you get the point, you say that becuase the character is limited by actions that this is ok? Quicken spell makes that argument null

*shudders at the thought of a crap wireless company being the inspiration of anything for D&D*

A couple things to help balance this out: In lieu of a Prestige class, only rollover 3 spells, or as many as you can cast per day (whichever is lower). You can rollover up to 3rd level spells. Spells can only be rolled over for up to 24 hours.

Um, no?

If I'm reading this right, which the other comments seem to support, you're effectivlely granting 3 extra spell slots of the highest level they can cast, if they can rest for one day. No.

Compare to the feat, Extra Slot, which grants one extra spell slot of up to the second highest level of spells known, and doesn't change with levels. Maybe if it let you do something like, "if you rest and re-ready arcane spells when you still have at least one left, you may ready an extra slot of the same level", which would grant one extra slot of up to your highest level, but you have to have leftovers to get it.

Add some fine print to the feat:

Rolled over spell slots expire in 24 hours.

Subject to limited availibility(make max level to rollover 2 or 3 less than their highest spell level).

Terms and conditions apply(e.g. only usable at night, must have a verbal component to the spell casting and have to shout(can you hear me now?)).

Only within the network(rolled over slots must be within a specific school/theme of magic (divination/communication to nerf it and be even more silly?)

Contract(if you end up making a prestige class, you can't take levels in other classes until you finish X levels of the prestige class first).

Overage charges(got nothing for how to pull this one yet)

(something about forcing them to buy a highly magical and pretty, but useless wand just for this prestige class that offers no other bonuses? Perhaps it makes the wielder incredibily obvious(like 2nd ed. spell Faerie Fire))

Ok, given all the comments (thanks especially to Bloodhawk's comment). I like Kellandros's remark, but it should be at least a minimally useful feat.

Revamped version:

Magic Rollover
Prerequisites:
Able to cast a third level arcane spell. Spellcraft +7.
Benefits:
For each slot you did not use the previous day, you get a spell slot 3 levels below that slot the next day. You cannot gain more slots this way than (CL/2)-1 , and slots role over only 24 hours. Note that for this feat, a prepared caster's slots are considered unused if the spell in the slot was not cast. Furthermore the slots stay within the same caster class. (So for example, if someone had ranks in both wizardry and dread necromancer, the rollover wizard slots would only be usable for wizardry spells). Slots gained in this way cannot be used to cast spells with metamagic modifications.
Special: You can take this feat multiple times, each time it applies to a different caster class.

Ok, I think this works a bit better. (The metamagic restriction was inspired by Kellandros's comment that "Terms and conditions apply"). Is it still too broken?
