My friend's glorious and terrifying abomination of a character will have something like a 38+ strength score. He has a light load of 3.2k pounds (correct me if I'm wrong, but 400x2sizex4 is 3200). He wants to use 1 ton boulders as weapons. How would you guys rule this, as a throwing weapon or as a bludgeoning weapon?

I was going to use the telekinesis rules, which state 1d6 per 25 pounds, but I am not sure that doing that is the best option. To be fair, though, 40d6+1.5xstr does seem appropriate for having a massive boulder thrown on top of you.

Look at the prestige class Hulking Hurler. Has exactly what you need.

This says nothing about how much damage the boulders would do..

...a hulking hurler depends on brute strength more than skill, he can throw anything (not just weapons) he can lift as a light load. If the item is an improvised weapon, he takes a —2 penalty on his attack roll instead of the normal —4. Use the rules in Chapter 4 of this book to determine the amount of damage the thrown weapon does.

The prestige class is from Complete Warrior, and I believe it's a certain number of dice for a 400lb object plus an additional dice every 200lbs, but I don't have the book handy so I don't know specifics.
