Would the sphere allow one to posses things outside of it? Because it would be a nice way to keep your body safe, while you possess everything outside, and make em kill each other.

Per the Spell Description (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magicJar.htm), when it comes to the jar itself, it "must be within spell range and you must know where it is, though you do not need line of sight or line of effect to it" - however: "You do need line of effect from the jar to the creatures"

So you could, say, drop a suitable gem (free action), walk back a bit (move), cast a Quickened Resilient Sphere on yourself (Swift), then cast Magic Jar (Standard), while being well within the bounds of the clearly-defined RAW. Yes.

yes, though depending on the strictness of the DM the line "Nothing can pass through the sphere, inside or out, though the subject can breathe normally." may be ruled to block line of effect.
