Druid Aberration Companion

I was wondering if there existed a feat or prestige class that would grant the druid an aberration as an animal companion. I like the idea of a druid of the strange or alien. If one doesn't exist what would be a good balance to homebrew a feat or alternate class feature?

The Beast Heart Adept PrC (from Dungeonscape) allows you to choose a monstrous companion from a modest list of magical beasts and aberrations.

I've never used it and it doesn't look great, in particular since druid class levels don't stack, but you might be able to tweak it a bit.

You could give the animal companion the Aberration Blood feat or the half-Illitihid template (with DM approval).

Or the psuedonatural creature template from the alienist class.
