Okay, my question is about thearcane archer (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/arcaneArcher.htm) Prc. Now, IT says in Imbue arrow, that "It is a standard action to cast the spell and shoot the arrow" Does this mean that I still have another action to do what I will?

...in a round, you can take a full-round action, a standard action and a move action, or two move actions.

Casting the spell and firing the arrow, together, take up a standard action.

I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

I've never understood why you'd want to cast the spell into an arrow and shoot it. Why not skip arcane archer, keep the full caster progression, and cast the bloody spell? I guess you can get the spell to go around corners with the seeker arrow ability, woo hoo.

Well, I suppose you could create a wall of Iron on someone.... or summon a Tiny Hut and crush an enemy

If Imbue Arrow allowed Touch Attack spells to be loaded into an arrow, to go off if the arrow hits (on a standard rather than touch attack) the target, that would so be worth it. Touch of Fatigue, normally a cantrip and not very worth it, can be quite nasty with this plus Heighten Spell to bump up DC on the resist check. Think Concussion Shot from WoW's Hunter class... it keeps them from running, and gives them a -2 on str and dex. Touch of Idiocy would be vicious to load up... shoot the opponent caster and nerf him to the abyss and back.

It would be offset by the fact that you can only fire the one arrow rather than your volley of arrows.

In fact, my redo of the Arcane Archer allows touch and ranged attack spells to be loaded up into an arrow. It also replaces Seeker Arrow (which, IMO, stinks on dry ice since Improved Precise Shot does the exact same thing) with Elemental Aura (any arrow which is affected by Enhance Arrow gets +1d6 from one of the following elements: fire, ice, acid, lightning; changable as a move action). It redefines Phase Arrow (which is another worthless ability) as an ability which gives all Enhance Arrows the Ghost Touch trait.

Instead of Hail of Arrows, they get Greater Rapid Shot, which gives them an extra shot when using the Rapid Shot feat (and Rapid Shot goes in the feats required list), and negates the -2 penalty on using Rapid Shot in the first place.

Oh, and I also made the DC on Death Touch scalable, based on the casting stat of the casting class used to qualify for the PrC in the first place.

I'm also considering 1/2 casting progression for it.

I was thinking letting it use those useless abilites more than once a day. Something like AA class + modifier of relevant spellcasting stat.

That, and 1/2 casting progression, would make it less suck.

Does improved precise shot negate armor modifiers?

No, Improved Precise shot doesn't go through armor.

What would be nice would be the ability to combine the abilities.

Seeker Arrow (Sp (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#spellLikeAbilities))

At 4th level, an arcane archer can launch an arrow once per day at a target known to her within range, and the arrow travels to the target, even around corners. Only an unavoidable obstacle or the limit of the arrow’s range prevents the arrow’s flight. This ability negates cover (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/combatModifiers.htm#cover) and concealment (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/combatModifiers.htm#concealment) modifiers, but otherwise the attack is rolled normally. Using this ability is a standard action (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#standardActions) (and shooting the arrow is part of the action).

Seeker Arrow doesn't negate armor bonus to AC either. Improved Precise Shot negates Cover and Concealment. Same thing with Seeker Arrow.

Phase arrow does ignore armor, but says nothing about natural armor, or anything else. Even if it did allow the attack to resolve as a touch-attack, it still isn't nearly as good as, say, the Arcane Trickster's Impromptu Sneak Attack which makes an opponent flat-footed (denying Dex bonus to AC with a precision-based class is FUN), and everyone says the Arcane Trickster is underpowered compared to many options available anyways (like a straight Beguiler).

Oops, misread that. Thanks.

Nice.
One thing that's nice about the arcane archer- never having to waste $$ on enhancements, especially your version, as you have a ghost touch, shocking arrow +5 at ninth level, without having to pay a dime.
