I have a tough time understanding the concept behind Powers. What exactly is the difference between a god and say, a demon lord? Or even better, what are the differences between deities and non-deity powers in general? Are gods somehow more powerful? Is there any kind of hierarchy to them? For example, how are the interactions between good gods and celestial paragons? And between archdevils/demon lords and evil gods?

You should ask this over on Afroakuma's thread! He's very knowledgeable.

Honestly the higher ones in each "group" should be almost equal standing, except greater gods which are pretty much above everything else, and then you have those on AO's level who literally are just beyond comprehension.

You mean.. Yondalla is stronger than Orcus? :smalleek:

Easily. She's Divine Rank 18, can freely create creatures and magic items, and has what is basically a better Wish at-will. Duplication of all spells of 9th-level or lower (including metamagic'd spells), the ability to render any magical effect permanent, reshaping of reality and landscapes around her... Doable as a free action if it involves halflings, fertility, or protecting something. She also automatically succeeds on all attack rolls and saving throws, and is immune to a massive amount of things.

Yondalla's a scary lady. Orcus doesn't have power in the same weight class (since he lost his divinity when he lost Tenebrous).
