Hello there all. This is Battle Royale. It has rules. You should read them. :smalltongue:

Rules of the game:
1) Every player starts with 30HP
2) Everyone will roll a d20 for initiave at the start of each round!
3) Every player will have a normal attack that deals 1d20 damage (Yep, more luck than skill is needed!)
4) There are 6 classes (if you have suggestions for others I will be willing to hear them!).
5) The classes each have their own special ability, which will be listed below. The ablities can only be used everthing 3 rounds! (So if you use it in round #1 you can't use it until round #4. The Monk and Ninja ablitiy are exceptions and can only be used every 5 rounds.
6) The classes will be distributed around players randomly and as evenly possible. If you would like a particular class then please say so in a pm or in this thread. If everyone wants a particular class then I am sorry but some of you will be disappointed.
7) You choose your action each round, whether you're just gonna attack or use your special ability, please send these actions in PM's.
8)Have fun!
9) If you don't act during a round, the inactivity demon will come in and deal 1d5 damage to you
10) You will have 2 days to pm your actions, choose them wisely!

Here are the classes:
Swordsman/woman: Swordsmanship: Do 1d20+6 damage to any target
Mage: Barrier: 1d6 damage to anyone who attacks the casting mage. Their attack is still executed but halved
Rogue: Hide: Can't be attacked until the next round.
Archer: Rapid Shot: Deals 1d12 damge to two targets.
Monk: Pray: Damage done to the praying monk is halved, damage dealt by the praying monk is also halved (rounded down). This lasts for 3 rounds.
Cleric: Heal: 1d6 hp is granted to target (can't be cast on self)
Ninja: (NEW!) Ninja's Speed: +5 to initiative for 3 rounds.

The Battle Royale arena is packed full today, people are jostling for seats and now only season ticket holders (ie, everyone) are allowed in. The crowd take their comfy seats, as the Eventmaster steps up to the podium.

The crowd cheer and clap.

"Thank you, everyone! And welcome to the second battle!

The Eventmaster spots a large sign with strange grammar on it, held up by an half-orc, half-orge who is taking up 2 seats. The sign says something about rogues. The Eventmaster looks slightly confused but gets back on focus right away.

"As you all know, the reigning champion, Abardam--"

Screams and cheers erupt from the crowd. The Eventmaster waits impatiently for them to settle down.

"--will be defending his title. So let's meet our 14 contestants!"

14 people walk into the centre of the arena, the crowd cheer and scream again. The 14 people all look ready to fight. The crowd are already shouting "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" So the Eventmaster decides to not bother with introductions and instead says:

"Let this Battle Royale BEGIN!"

Well, Abardam got absolutly massacred out there and was killed. Another mob victim was Dr. Bath but he managed to survive the round. Others come out of round 1 unscathed, and some take minor injuries. But bloodshed in the first round makes for a promising game. I wonder what will happen in Round 2?

Well, D'anna well timed barrier (and the only effective barrier of the game's history so far) saved him from death and dealt a small amout of punishment to his attackers. Zar joins Abardam as the secon most hated in the game and the heated battle between him and Fredricus continues. Also, the inactivity demon is too busy for my liking.

As promised, my round by round actions and reasoning.

Pre-fight strategy: Offer nonaggression/mutual heal pact to the other cleric.

Round #1: Attack Dr. Bath (Rogue)
Rogues have to die, but since they may hide, I go after one with lower init than me. Thus my choice of Dr. Bath as target.

Round #2: Attack DLD (Rogue)
Same logic, same reasoning. DLD came after me in init and hadn't hidden the prior turn. So I attacked and killed her. Someone else finished off Dr. Bath, so the Rogues (in my perception the biggest threat, long term) have been removed.

Round #3: Attack HyramGraff (Archer)
Mages are tricky - you never know when they're going to go barrier on you, so it's best to attack them only when they come after you in the init, so your attack goes off before they can raise a Barrier. With my low init score this round, and seeing HyramGraff still uninjured and after me, I decide to whittle away at his HP total.

Round #4: Attack Fredricus (Archer)
Fredricus was down to 10 hp - with a little luck (which I got) I could take him out with a single attack and remove a potentially dangerous late game combatant. So I did.

Round #5: Attack Inky (Mage)
I'm at the very bottom of the init and unwounded - I know this means if I don't act I'm likely to be 'redneck-tree'd'. I call on my nonaggression pact with Selrahc, who agrees to heal me, seeing as it's very likely I'll be attacked. I decide to attack Inky because he can't reactivate Barrier this turn, and he's taken something of a beating already, so if I get lucky I can drop him and remove a mage (in my estimation the second most dangerous class) from the game.

Round #6: Heal D'anna Biers (Mage)

This is where the controversy begins.

I'm at low hp. We still have four combatants above 20 hp. Maggie and Hyram both go before me. This needs to change. So I send seperate PMs to D'anna, Castaras and Maggie and Hyramgraff
My suggestions:
D'anna - Attack Selrahc in exchange for a heal this round.
Castaras - Attack D'anna Biers. I promise her a heal if his hp drop below 20.
Maggie and Hyramgraff: Attack Selrahc - it's too dangerous to allow both clerics to survive to endgame. Maggie, unfortunately, continues to inactivate rather than move.

Round #7: Attack D'anna Biers (Mage)
I expect Maggie will continue to inactivate, and I'm last in initative. So I put in an order hoping to catch D'anna with Barrier not in place, and remove the other mage from the game, thus making it a far more predictable exercise. This actually works - with a 20, I kill the man I'd just healed. Castaras prays, just about sealing the victory. I quietly PM her (or maybe I did this last turn - can't remember) and basically say I'm not going to move against her. 2nd Place is good enough for me.

Round #8: Attack HyramGraff (Archer)

Helgraf: 6hp (Can't use Heal until Round 9)
HyramGraff: 21hp (Can't use Rapid Shot until Round 10)
Castaras: 29hp (Pray: 3)
MaggieTheCat: 10.5hp (Inactivity 5)

I'm last in the initiative order and have crap hp. A batch PM is sent to Selrahc, Maggie (in case she wakes up) and Castaras, suggesting we gang up on HyramGraff, because otherwise he's about certain to win as he'll take one of us out a round while we spend actions killing one another. Selrahc commits suicide via inactivity.

I get no confirmations, but the plan works. HyramGraff chooses to eliminate the inactive Maggie (a mistake in my book, 2 more turns would have done for her naturally), Selrahc dies from inactivity, and Castaras and I attack Hyramgraff, wounding him smartly.

Round #9: Attack HyramGraff (Archer)
I'm still in bad shape, but I'm at the top of the initiative. Time to remove the last obstacle to at least a second place finish. I knock Hyramgraff into oblivion, and then Castaras turns on me, much as I'd expected - thankfully her prayer weakens her blow enough for me to survive.

Round #10: Attack Castaras (Monk)
This is pretty much an autodefault round. I either attack or take inactivity. Not surprisingly, with Cas still above 20 hp and me under 5, I lose.
