Hi!
i'm planning tp play a Vril character, but I'm a bit confused about the statblock on the WotC-errata.
http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20070504a
It's attack bonus for the heavy pick reads: +5
I broke it down to:
+3 bab
+1 ability (strenght 13)
+1 small size
+1 weapon focus (heavy pick)
this would sum up to be +6
I guess the -1 bright light penalty is left out because that's circumstantional.

Next and more important: the damage output is 1d6+1, but that would be for a medium-size pick, as the Vril is small size it would be 1d4 or is he using the medium-sized one double handed? :smallconfused:
Also: in DotU p126 under 'Vril as Characters' it reads: "Small size: +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack
rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, –4 penalty on grapple checks,
lifting and carrying limits those of Medium characters."
Does that mean that Vril are stronger than average goblins (which have -2 to STR) and therefore can crry more stuff and mediumsize weapons? A bit like Goliaths powerful build?

You forgot +1 to hit from masterwork weapon and -2 to hit for using an oversized weapon.

I'd interpret the "lifting and carrying limits those of Medium characters" line to mean only that Vril don't apply the "A smaller creature can carry less weight depending on its size category, as follows: Small ×¾, Tiny ×½, Diminutive ×¼, Fine ×1/8" clause when determining their carrying capacity based on their strength score (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/carryingCapacity.htm).
