Faerun Questions: stingers?

I have seen these mentioned on sites revolving around Amn, what are they? are they a race or some kind of sect un Muranndin? Sorry if this isn't a 3.5 questions.

Stingers are Mazticanian not-scorpionfolk. They can be found in Monsters of Faerûn. They have 4 HD.

They are not to be confused with normal scorpionfolk (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/scorpionfolk.htm), which have 12 HD.

Both also have different kinds of spell-like abilities.

oh ok, my player's landed in the underdark almost right ontop of their city so i kind of had to know what they were lol
