Lycanthrope DR Help

OK, I SHOULD know the answer to this...
But please explain.

A Lycanthrope should be WEAK to silver correct?

But they have a DR of 5/silver or 10/silver

I read this as they get a damage REDUCTION toward silver meaning they take LESS damage.

Some one help me interpret this please.

You're reading it wrong. DR 5/Silver means "Has damage resist of 5, except when hit with silver."

You're reading DR backwards. DR X/Silver is only bypassed by silver (and anything that ignores all DR like spells and energy).
