Hey everybody :)

I am doing something ive never done before, building a mounted based character!

I am going to be a goblin cavalier. Im not looking to be super mega optimized ( i.e I know that I should be focusing on ranged attacks BUT I wanna charge into the meat of combat all super bodaciously)

20 point-buy. Level 1; maximum gold.

Following books allowed:
Core Rulebook, Advanced Players' Guide (check about optional rules), Advanced Race Guide (No race builder), Ultimate Campaign, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Equipment, Ultimate Magic, Adventurers' Armory, Animal Archive, Blood of Magic, Blood of Fiends, Champions of Purity, Dungeoneers' Handbook, Dwarves of Golarion, Elves of Golarion, Faiths of Balance, Faiths of Purity, Gnomes of Golarion, Halflings of Golarion, Humans of Golarion, Inner Sea Primer, Varisia, Birthplace of Legends, City of Strangers, Faction Guide, Heart of the Jungle, Inner Sea World Guide, Lost Kingdoms, Magnimar City of Monuments, Paths of Prestige, Legacy of Fire Players' Guide.

Three traits - one campaign trait for Legacy of Fire, 2 other traits, no two of the same category.

My stats are going to be like this I am thinking
str 12
dex 16
con 15
int 12
wis 12
cha 10

I know my first feat is going to be mounted comba, but as for the rest im not sure

so id like a nice guide up to like...9th level or so in terms fo what feas I should grab what order I should take ETC,

also wat PrC (if any) I should be steering towards BONUS COOKIES if it has spellcasting attached so I can do some cool buffs for myself and my super cool ( yet ugly) mount!.

any and all help will be appreciated.

Is there a way for me (not my mount) to get pounce or at least 1 extra attack on a charge?

This handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=7414) has always helped me out with my mounted characters...

I appreciate the link, but the game I am playing is pathfinder with ONLY the allowed books that I posted.

SO the 3.5 guide is less than helpful to me.

hmm... indeed. well, so I see now.

a) would probably help to add a pathfinder tag to the title. I didn't really notice the book names (prominent though they were), all I saw was that you needed help with mounted combat.

b) the following excerpt from this handbook (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=25.0) might help some...
Pathfinder

Archetypes (animal companion): Totem guide is the most interesting of these, particularly in the hands of a character who can't access its spells normally. They add new feats to those the animal companion can select, but they weren't restricted in the first place so just ignore that part.
Archetypes (familiar): Valet is the only one of these that's any use for a mount.
Mammoth Rider: A PrC that advances animal companions and grants them extra bonuses. Can be pretty nasty, but note that animal companions work differently in PF.
Trick Riding: A feat that upgrades Mounted Combat. Not bad. Note that due to differences in skill systems, it would require Ride 12 ranks in a 3.5e game.
Undersized MountACG: A feat that lets you ride mounts of the same size as you. Combined with Mighty Steed, it lets a kobold ride a psicrystal (provided he can buff its carrying capacity).

c) This article (http://www.koboldpress.com/k/front-page15093.php#.VN0ypPnQr0s) and this article (http://kcmorris.hubpages.com/hub/A-Guide-to-the-Dragoon-Pathfinder) have some information about mounted combat as well, but don't know if they will help with what you want either.

That's all I've really got for you. I've never really played much pathfinder, so this was all just a result of 8 minutes worth of googling.
