Illumians are rapidly becoming my favorite race in D&D 3.5. I'm currently playing one in Ravenloft, a Chameleon archer sort of thing, and it's a lot of fun. How the DM runs the setting, just about every other non-monster is a plain Human, except for two of the other players' characters at some points (it's Ravenloft; we've had some mortality). This is in contrast to her pre-Mists setting, where Illumians were the dominant race. Thus, my character's racial identity is becoming much more important to her.
For those of you who've rolled Illumians, how do you usually play that up and make the race really feel distinct from a human? So far I'm emphasizing the linguistic aspect and the fact that My Language Is Better Than Your Language.
