So, I have an idea for a campaign and I'm planning on using the d20 system. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where only mankind is concentrade inside one bulky megacity. Technology has evolved greatly in the years before the war that torn the world asunder. But it wasn't technology the reason behind the war, it was the advent of magic. In the war between technology and magic, magic won. Now, spellcasters are the elite of society, and the those that live on the fringe seek ways to use magic so they can climb their way up to a better life.

The setting is based on cyberpunk with magic permeating society. Magic should be way more powerful than the advanced technology of the city. Is there any book on which I could base this game?

Pathfinder has the Technology guide (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1601256728/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1601256728&linkCode=as2&tag=httpwwwd20pfs-20&linkId=I4WRDI766XR3RCYQ), available for free on the d20pfsrd.org.

Thank you. Is there any game or book that also has this same or similar relationship between technology and magic?

Depends what you mean. A post-apocalyptic world where mankind is limited to being inside one bulky megacity that's fueled by magic? Nothing directly comes to mind. Magical cyberpunk? Arguably a lot of gaslight fantasy stories go in that direction ("Gaslight Fantasy" generally gets mistaken for steampunk, even though there's a lot of fantasy at work instead of the standard gadgets and gears.) The difference there is that it'd be low tech instead of high tech.

Arguably, the worldbuilding of Doctor Who sort of has that... a lot of the "science" of the Time Lords is stuff that even the Time Lords don't understand, and may in fact be a sort of magic created by Omega or other early Time Lords. But that's speculation, and Doctor Who is incredibly idealistic, something that you don't normally see in cyberpunk stories.

Ultimately, I think your setting's a cool idea. Have fun with it.

Shadowrun or Cthulutech sound somewhat similar, but I haven't heard very good things about the latter, and neither are d20. Cyberpunk 2020 is a game I"ve heard good things about, but it doesn't magic. I don't know of any d20 cyberpunk + magic + post apocalypse games off the top of my head. Edit: Googling around, Spycraft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spycraft) is a game that came up as a suggestion for the cyberpunk elements, at least in tone.

Question: Are you looking to a cyberpunk game that's more "pink mohawk" (http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/076/0/e/cyber_punk_fantasy_by_hardcolico-d490hm5.jpg) or "mirrored shades"? (http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/233/9/3/finished_sketch_583_by_janditlev-d47betx.jpg)

Definetly mirrored shades. I'm gunning for a Neo-Noir feel. Spycraft is interesting, but the goal of the game is geared towards super-spies and the like, not the thing I want. Shadowrun, on the other hand, is very similar to what I'm looking for. Does anybody know if there are any d20 adaptations of it?

I personally prefer the d6 dice pool method, and actually find it easier than d20, but to each their own.

I can't think of a setting book off the top of my head. There's a lot of freely released homebrew stuff on Scribd.

As for the mechanics the d20 Modern books should completely fill your needs I should think. Much of the material was released as an SRD. But for a time drivethrurpg.com had the books for free download as pdf's.

They also have a pile of homebrewed stuff for free download.

There's a homebrew Shadowrun d20 conversion I found a while back on Scribd. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I had a look at the Shadowrun d20 module and came to the conclusion that it's too campaign specific for what I'm looking for. The d20 Modern and d20 Future will probably be the books on which I'm going to base the game on, Urban Arcana too. Thanks for the help, guys!

Don't forget to look for the Futuretech and Cybertech books as well.

Why not both?

Why not both?:smallconfused: They're generally considered to be the two opposite sides of a spectrum, so while a game can (and most will) have elements of both in a cyberpunk game, it's hard to have "more" of both at the same time.
